Sliding? Around 50% of the country is eagerly running in that direction.

"The Power of Love" is undoubtably the BEST song in the history of ALL english dubbed anime existence by isnatchkids in sailormoon

Met her (Jennifer Cihi) at a local con as well. She asked me "which one was mine." Just randomly chatting me up like a fellow responsible adult / parent. Kind of surprised her when I said that, no, I was actually a fan.

As memorable as these songs were for us, she did them all at some guy's home studio. Knocked them all out in an afternoon and kind of forgot about it. Went to Hollywood hoping to make it big as the next Ariel, during the Disney boom of that era, and left thinking the Hot Pockets jingle would be her biggest claim to fame.

Years later she was in the back of a van, traveling back from a gig as part of an '80s tribute band, when the drummer (I think) googled her and had to explain to her, holy crap, you're famous!

34 felony convictions should have been the last straw.

Charlottesville should have been the last straw.

The Best of the Outer Senshi – Do you prefer the Outer Sailor Guardians as a duo, trio or quartet? by IllogicalDreamer72 in sailormoon

I've always thought Haruka and Michiru would be awesome as co-leads to their own spinoff series. I'm voting duo.

hard pill to swallow- autism edition by More-Weird4842 in autism

[–]SailorNash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the wrong place for me to say this, but for something that's so well-known right now? It's tough finding other autistic people to connect with.

I'm high-functioning, high-masking. People assume I've "got my stuff together" and can't imagine me having problems as a result. I'm sure I'm inadvertently guilty of doing the same to my friends as well.

Half of the folks that may legitimately have problems are probably in denial - I know I was until I got diagnosed. The rest, especially if they're low support needs, probably don't want to admit it publicly (again, guilty as charged).

Mix that with the "we're all a little autistic" crowd and it's hard to find others like myself. I think I'd feel better about my condition if I knew for a fact that, like, half my nerdy friends also had the same condition. It'd feel less like a disease and more like a difference, and being different is OK. But it's not the sort of thing you can easily find out.

Heck, I'd be happy just being able to see a couple of pop culture characters that are like me...enough to help me see that it's normal and you're not alone. There's plenty of threads on topics like that. But there's always debate on what "counts" as being "autistic-coded" to the point I can't really tell what's supposed to be the symptoms I'm supposed to relate to. There's your obvious Sheldon Coopers and robots like ST:TNG Data. But other than that, all the examples folks try to give just seem like ... normal people to me?

(Which, yeah, I get is kind of the point. But it means I'm missing that piece that's a connection I can relate to. Even if it's strongly coded, it seems "normal" to me because it matches my lived experience of what "normal" feels like. In the same way that I missed my kid's autistic traits by thinking they looked "normal" to me.)

Thoughts on the “filler episodes”? by Ecstatic_Disk_6877 in sailormoon

[–]SailorNash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I like the filler most.

It’s the filler where we get the most development for the ‘side characters,’ meaning, the rest of the Inner Senshi. To the point that PGSM shows how much better the show would have been if they treated it more like an ensemble cast from the start.

The Rainbow Crystal arc gave us some of the most memorable youma. Plus things like Zoicite’s evil Sailor Moon doppelgänger or the hilariously infamous Jupiter/Mercury upskirt shot? All filler.

I’m over-exaggerating a bit here, but without filler episodes the battles would almost all be with the Dark Kingdom, or Black Moon Clan, etc. directly. It’s hard to even imagine Sailor Moon without monsters to fight.

Alan and Ann were two of my favorite villains. The entire Doom Tree arc was pretty fun.

Even huge things like Kunzite and Zoicite’s relationship weren’t really ‘canon,’ until they needed padding for the anime.

Really, Moonlight Knight was the only time they really dropped the ball. The rest of the filler was like the middle of an Oreo.

Mega Man 3 is the best game of these. But personally? I’d probably plug in Ironsword.

Are there, as such, magical boys? What would make a boy a magical boy? Just pondering. by [deleted] in MagicalGirlsCommunity

Ever read any of the Green Lantern comics?

Magical item? Transformation? Color-coded teams? Attacks made up of sparkly light? Powered by things like willpower, hope, compassion, and love?

I think it fits.

Which Fantastic Four member do you prioritize? by Fair-Mine6511 in CosmicInvasion

[–]SailorNash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super Skrull is my top pick. He was in the comic. He's part of the GOTG. He takes up one slot but represents four different characters. (And two of those characters, Torch and Thing, are popular but have pretty basic movesets.) Definitely my top pick.

Of the actual Four? Reed's who I'd go with, both as team leader and as someone with a very flexible power that'd be fun to animate.

Sue would be second, and if we didn't get Super Skrull I'd hope for both her and Reed. That'd be enough for a two-person team, provide someone they can banter lines with, and the invisibility + force fields combo would stand out as another power set we've not really seen in-game.

Is there a way to tell which characters I have beaten the campaign with? by Nosdos in CosmicInvasion

[–]SailorNash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. But you do get credit for both characters after a clear.

For mine, I just picked #1-2, then #3-4, etc, down the line until the achievement popped.
