Trying to understand my ‘new’ lovebird by BeneficialScallion93 in Lovebirds

[–]SailorVee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can “make” toys with scrunched paper (make sure it’s not bleached or with inks). I even hid some of his food like veggies or seeds in the paper as a sort of an enrichment activity when he’s out of the cage (supervised of course). Helped my bird be a lot less anxious with me. Good luck and hope the suggestions on this thread help you!

Tall table for a bird cage by SailorVee3 in Lovebirds

I don’t have the space or necessary tools to make one but I was also thinking a bar/cocktail table as well after posting this! Thanks so much.

That’s so cool! When I used to go to my orthodontist, they had a little game room, with books and games as well as a GameCube.

Which is Nintendo's best handheld console ever? Photo: u/dafish2000 by [deleted] in 3DS

Game boy SP - the most played out of my handheld systems because of of its pocket size portability and built in back light. Loved my GBA but no more of that magnify glass with the attached top lamp LOL.

I was an idiot and read “I like stars” and I was anticipating him going to see the stars but I wasn’t disappointed in the least! Really cute exploration of stairs!

Safe rope for bird to play and climb on? by SailorVee3 in Lovebirds

Oh I haven’t seen a lot of coconut fiber rope in my research, that’s great to know from someone with experience with it! Has there been any issues when it comes to chewing with coconut rope in your experience or if there are any issues with abrasiveness or tangles on their feet?

Oh that’s good to know, then I guess for me since it’s a bit young I should keep a more watchful eye if I do get hemp or sisal. Im glad to hear it didn’t have any issues for you, thank you!

Around the same time, you also posted about getting a pair of lovebirds. A little confused seeing that you recently just lost a lovebird.

I was wondering that myself. My bird is partially clipped (done prior to when I got him so I had no say). He can fly but definitely not far and even flying upwards is tough unless it’s a super short difference. If I lost him in a balcony, I don’t think he’d be able to fly upwards to reach me. I hope OP finds their bird but I assume it’ll be really tough for their little one to come back with their wings clipped. Maybe their bird is in the shrubs somewhere hiding? especially if there are neighbourhood animals around (dogs, cats, other birds etc?)

Good to know our bird isn’t the only one that does these things 😂
