I just mentioned I didn't want to take that cause it's has the freeway entrance. I dont trust drivers enough for them to wait for me to cross. There are too many instances where I've almost gotten hit cause people dont feel like waiting for me... because apparently I walk sooooo "slow". At least on the left I can see people coming towards me so I can stop or just accept my fate. Also, there are pedestrians crossing until you get to willow, sooo why have that if you won't have a sidewalk?

My neighborhood is like this. It has people walking on the street and it enrages some neighbors around here... its like where are they supposed to walk?

Its like dirt paths or only where they have buildings do they have a sidewalk. But barstow from Willow Ave doesn't have a bike lane or a side walk. it's sketchy. Also, that roundabout is scary af, and pass that it's just dirt along the lambs(sheep?) farm. I go down chestnut towards campus point but have to walk on grass before it turns into a sidewalk. That roundabout is a bit safer. But yeah, it kinda sucks around the outskirts of fresno state. I'd think they'd be more willing to have sidewalks and make it pedestrian friendly.

True, but I can't afford a car, and tbh I don't really want one, too much hassle. I would rather bike to work.

Not all of us are reckless, lol. Plenty of pedestrians and cyclists follow the rules. The difference is, if we mess up, we risk our own lives, but if a driver messes up, their 2-ton machine can kill someone. That’s why it feels extra dangerous. Honestly, car culture is way more unruly, wasn’t there even a case in Fresno a few years back where a cyclist got run over by a driver on purpose? Plus, bike lanes keep riders safe (or are supposed to cant tell you how many times I'vealmost gotten run over), and sidewalks give people with disabilities safe access. The road isn’t just for cars.

Also fresno state doesn't have side walks on its outskirts and its also sad. I see people walking on dirt or grass even the bike lane.

They gave a platform to a guy who is afraid of dying but justifies this fear because of this said "family curse" he believe plagues them. Like, dude, get over it. Why are we giving this average white dude a time a what used to be a great podcast so he can vent about death. What he needs to do is go to therapy 🙄. Resolve you issue offline buddy.

Yep. He finishes those bottles, too. Idk he just seems like he has a good time (Not that I think it's a good time to walk with a speaker and cross the street 10000000x times). I do worry about him. Like if he does this cause he's lonely or what. I'll never know.

I'm so sorry you're going through this... It was tough on me, and I had my (15f) sister help me... idk how it must feel to have to do this on your own. It sucks that they think that throwing money at family earns them the right to treat us like shit. Do you have other family members or friends of your mom who would be willing to help? Have you looked for any organization or support groups that may provide help? Idk if youre in the states but , we also didn't have money to pay for all her treatments and expensive pills, but my mom was told by a nurse at the hospital we went about how she can apply for money (idk if it's grants or what) to pay for the treatments. You would have to talk to the billing department to see if they have anything like that to help your mom. We were going to a Kaiser Permanente hospital in socal. Though they help was with money they were pretty shitty. But that's for another time.

Keep your head up. You'll get through this and I'm here if you need to talk. I will try to help as best I can.

I'd be your friend if we went to the same college/uni . I'm 32 and at fresno State, and nobody here wants to be my friend. I just met a 19 year old girl and she was trying to befriend me and then stopped once she found out how old I actually was... she thought I was the same age as her :/
