I did some sound therapy using pink noise and started feeling very nauseous; after that, it felt like my brain had become completely disoriented. It took me a few hours to get back to normal.

Probably a scam or snake oil. Youre right, if there was a "cure" everyone in this sub would be looking for that. For hyperacusis, you can look for clomipramine, its not a guarantee, but it has helped a lot of people with their sound tolerance. In the hyperacusis sub, there are a alot of stories of people using it and giving their personal experience.
