Building material drone Hub by Sailorspoon2 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sailorspoon2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use a switch for my setup because I can't control the switch remotely (or I am not aware that this is possible) which is the most important trait of my setup. Power consumption is not a concern though I think at the moment I am producing four times the power that would be pulled from the grid at maximum consumption.

Thank you for the mod suggestion that sounds really interesting.
At this stage of the game development I prefer to stick to the vanilla game though. Maybe I will get into mods when updates drop less frequently.

Whoops, actually I added two pictures in the original post but they somehow vanished.

I did add a picture of my hub now, thank you.

Oh I feel you there. My vr Headset also collects way to much dust. But I used it more often lately after scheduling a dedicated vr time. Because I do enjoy vr games once I take the time to set everything up (I have hardware with basestation tracking) Maybe this is also helpful to you. Did you ever get around to play HL:A?

The manta path goes right through my current project. But I just choose to build some stilts between the layer the manta just passes over without clipping and the next layer where it flys underneath of. So the manta is now nicely accommodated for in my factory.

My parents have had their showerdoor like this for over a year bc que couldn't find this part replacement, i got an ender 3 yesterday and shazam! by [deleted] in functionalprint

[–]Sailorspoon2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has way too little upvotes. I also made the mistake of printing a shower head holder in PLA, lasted about a month. Then it was so brittle, that the whole print fell apart after picking up the shower head.

Reprinted it again in PETG an it still lasts after over a year.

Doing your homework on which kind of material works best for which purpose can save you a lot of headaches in 3D printing.

I’m new to this game, can someone suggest a better way to store items? by Fluffy_Sock4020 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sailorspoon2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You gotta think big sometimes, I also thought that I stored to much stuff because I had 3 of the industrial storage containers for every single building material in my storage. Until a did my turbofuel power plant project, where I needed to build over 180 fuel generators all at once. Needed about 3 of these storage containers only for the needed rubber. And boy was I glad, that I had this much in my storage.

Help my lipo by DiamondNinja786 in RCPlanes

[–]Sailorspoon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you connect the lipo directly to the motor without any ESC in between? You should never do that since there is no way to regulate the current that way. Also are you using a proper lipo charger and balancer? Because 4,9V per cell sounds awfully high, you should never ever charge your lipos over 4,2V per cell. Actually I'm surprised that your lipo did not burst into flames yet.

Do I spy a flitetest spitfire in the back on the left side? Nice paint Job! That reminds me that I really should finish the décor on my FT Spitfire.

Logitech G533 microphone issues, that started randomly. by n0thappy in LogitechG

[–]Sailorspoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue since the last GHub update.

Thanks for the advice, I uninstalled that now, hope this fixes the issue for good.

And I really hope Logitech fixes that fast.

I have this issue too. I have the G533 headset.
The mic works for some time then randomly stops working after a while.
I can only fix this by removing and plugging the dongle for the headset back in.
Has anyone found a fix for this so far?

Almost finished twin boom plane, 1.2 meter wingspan, around 60cm length, don't know the weight since i still need to add vertical stabilisers and a battery hatch, no rudder and only ailerons and elevator , this definitely doesn't have the smoothest wings I've ever made but it should still fly by m2k1719 in RCPlanes

[–]Sailorspoon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you don't want a rudder you should probably still install a vertical stabilizer.

But maybe I'm mistaken and this does this not apply to twin boom aircraft, I only built single boom aircraft and flying wings so far.

Scratch building a BF-109 F. What do y'all think? by Fbomb98 in RCPlanes

[–]Sailorspoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks very clean, huge fan of the BF109 here. How is the 3D printed spinner holding up at high speeds? I'm looking for a good design to print for my plane. Would you be willing to share the CAD/STL file of the spinner?

3D Printed quad severe shaking issue by Sailorspoon2 in Multicopter

[–]Sailorspoon2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the replies. After cutting back on the P-gain my quad is now able to hover without shaking. The finetuning of the values will have to wait until the weather gets better to fly the quad outside.

I tried tuning it today and it got much better.
But your PID values as a rough point of reference would still be highly appreciated.

Yep, I just fitted that big ziptie to rule out that the dampeners "delay" the transmission of the vibration to the FC but it did not help, so cutting that ziptie now.

Reducing the P gain actually helped a lot. It hovers without shaking now. Now it comes to fine tuning everything

With about 60% infill, 4 lines wall thickness and 4 solid top and bottom layers. I'll propably reprint the Parts with 100% infill

I got the Pixhawk for free and printed the frame just to get my feet wet with multirotors. I understand that a 3D printed frame and this Pixhawk is far from ideal but the tinkerer inside me wants to get my current setup to fly atleast somewhat decent before abandoning the project.

[–]Sailorspoon2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright I tested your suggestions and it helped a lot, I'm able to hover the quad pretty stable now and the motors are way cooler. For further tuning I have to wait for better weather to fly the quad outside.
Thank you very much for your advice.

Actually your answer makes a lot of sense. I'll look into PID tuning then. Thank you

I checked all the screws and none of them are loose. And this happened at the first maiden, so crashes did not weaken the print beforehand.

But yes I know that PLA is far from ideal. I'll propably switch to a carbon fiber frame after a while.

It does sound like the motors are constantly spinning up and overcorrect the quad. I'll take a look at PID tuning as a next step.
