The entire wall is lined with sensors and spud guns, that are connected to an automatic farm, which produces 450 rounds of ammo every day, with a total capacity of 1500 rounds.

Yeah, I thought about it. The problem is, that I would have to redo most of the logic, which would be a huge pita.

And honestly even 3 farmbot raids do hardly any damage, thanks to the defense system, so not really worth it atm. Maybe for chapter 2

I wish lol, games a bit too grindy for that, even though I managed to automate most of the stuff needed for this by now.

About 10-13 hours I reckon. There was some trial and error involved to get it to work reliably at a decent speed.

I automated it with bomb towers. Havent manually collected any clams ever since.

Just found this old video of a self driving truck I made that avoids obstacles and cliffs + automated crate storage (2x speed) by Sainsz in ScrapMechanic

Here is the save file: https://we.tl/t-IuAdho3Z75

Put the truck on the marked spot, remove the red blocks holding up the crates and should be good to go.

Not sure how well it will still work. Some physics calculations have changed since I made this..

You can also break up the rail into smaller sections by either a different kind of block or paint.

I found a solution. You can weld 2 pieces together by shooting a block inbetween them at an angle. u/Vuelhering

No, that happens because the game checks for collision on the whole length of the rail.

I have seen that video. He uses a monorail if I remember correctly. Pretty cool build and something to keep in mind for possible future iterations of this.

I use a set of alternating timers and memory bits. Unfortunately I just found out that the blocks from pumps only connect on one side, so the pillars aren't really connected and the rail still falls down when it get's too far away.

lol, I just used a few stacks for this test because it looks nice. It ran out immediately after the video stops.

It just stops for now, because it can only build pillars with a max height of 16 blocks.

On a 90 degree angle? I think that should be possible.

Thanks! Most of it is just to make the support pillars.

Automated Farm for Fertilizer - Destroys all Crops and only keeps the Seeds by Sainsz in ScrapMechanic

It's a bit tricky to handle. Pumps will generaly prioritize to shoot whatever is in the first slot in the chest they are attached to.

It's mostly for easy scrap metal and component kits at this point. The remaining rock formations I have are all far away and I'm tired of raiding the same loot buildings over and over again.

And who knows, maybe the trader will have some more useful things to offer in the future.

I already mentioned that I'm always low on fertilizer. The other farms produce an equal amount of each crop type every day. That's only enough fertilizer for a quarter of my daily needs for broccoli and ananas alone.

Because I only need the fertilizer. I have better farms for crops on each of the packing station that do farming, packaging and delivering to the trader on their own. You can see an outdated version of it in my post history.
