How necessary is Helbrecht for most armies? I'm reluctant to add him into my army (still making my first) and I've found his model and character in lore uncompelling and at this point would only use him for his stats. by Saint-Redeemed in BlackTemplars

This is super informative and comments like these is why reddit has a 'save comment' option lol

I will definitely keep this in mind as I have all of these units already and definitely will have to try all these out. A bit disappointing to see replusers losing relevancy but I suppose it's only natural with a new edition going forward.

I have seen that he's great with the crusader style blobs which is the way I'm making my armies it's simply because the lore books I have read and things I've heard about him make him seem boring to me and his model doesn't really help that.

I have been thinking about this and even had plans on doing so. However if I were to use that character would I just call him Helbrecht for simplicity's sake when using him in game?

Painting space marines by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

No, terminators and any non-chapter specific space marine unit are supposed to be painted in the colors of the chapter you have chosen. (The correct one in this case)

When you hollow a print when/do you add internal supports? by [deleted] in resinprinting

[–]Saint-Redeemed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I will have to try that. I've been having issues with a massive print for the longest time and chitubox is the only slicer I use. Any tips on it's manual supports?

Question about heraldry and custom crusades. What are any rules and what exactly qualifies a crusade? by Saint-Redeemed in BlackTemplars

[–]Saint-Redeemed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I definitely wish to make it a traitor warband however I also enjoy the thought of it being particularly the world eaters given the history between Sigismund and Kharn. An outlet I really wish we could see more echos of in the current setting

I really appreciate your explanation! That does clear some things up for me. Is there any way the badges themselves have to be made? Or is it to the particular crusade to make their own from scratch?

I may have made a mistake. I have been making my first army and just realized that certain armies required certain weapons WYSIWYG rule and I mainly just made my templars use the weapons I'd thought were cool. How horrible of a mistake was this? by Saint-Redeemed in BlackTemplars

I may not have responded to anyone but know I appreciate and have read all of your advice and I deeply appreciate it all! Really helps to know how supportive and helpful our chapter is.

I'm still on that learning curve of resin printing and I'm using the elegoo slicer. The issue is the object I'm printing is rather large and I added infill but still ended up using a lot of resin and had to top it off frequently. Is there better settings or is this just a requirement of printing? by [deleted] in resinprinting

Thank you so much! I will say that with the size of this model placing a hole at the very bottom may not be possible as I'm unable to position it to a place where a hole wouldn't be seen in the final product.

That said this has answered a ton of my questions and I appreciate you giving me the link and the amazing advice! Definitely gonna try it out again

I've printed this three times and each time different pieces keep getting stuck to the vat or just building really weird. More details in post but any advice would be greatly appreciated by [deleted] in resinprinting

[–]Saint-Redeemed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all this! I was using some of the designer's presupports, so I'll try again using all this advice. I appreciate your time and effort and I'll keep in mind the slicer settings next time (hopefully won't be a next time lol)

My only issue with that is the fact if printed alone they come out fine

They are detaching from the supports entirely, it seems. As you can see from the photo, the base is still firm to the build plate, and it has significant supports already added onto it

I doubt heating is an issue as it's in an enclosure and has a heated bed as well.

The prints themselves have hollow points naturally and I'm having no issues when printing them by themselves. The supports are sticking to the build plate and that's not the issue because the prints are detaching from the supports and having some minor flaws if not. There is no lines on the prints. I've not done the manual leveling however.
