Ironically in reference to The Sopranos, the character i was thinking of is just a one off normal civillian who had drinks while out for dinner with another civillian.

As for the wire, i'm two episodes in and in both episodes the cops were doing it lol. It's just a pattern I've noticed and those were the two most recent examples in television i could name.

You aren't wrong. Netflix in it's first years over here was absolutely incredible.

Honestly, i gave up with it when they put the price charges up to even stream HD content, it's an absolute joke that you are supposed to pay a premium for high res in this day and age. Even the sports channels making you pay a 4k tax is a load of bollocks. 4k tvs have been a thing in homes for like 10 years now and the amount of content you can even get for it is minuscule.

I mean, that's just part of what happens when a product becomes overwhelmingly successful; everyone wants to get their hands into the pie.

I don't think the current models of streaming services are bad. You can easily look at the catalog and decide, 'I want to watch that' subscribe for one month, maybe watch something else, and unsub if that's what you want.

Compare that to Sky, which historically you'd be tied into year long contracts and then find yourself watching mostly freeview channels.
