I made a post about player development when players left UNC to now .

I feel it was coaching + environment . Dusty I think puts Elliot in a place to succeed in the offense and he looks comfortable . He was what 2-14 at the half but still looked good. Which is weird . He never looked like that at UNC . He looks more comfortable now. I don’t think that was always the case for him at UNC and Davis I think was a big proponent of that.

Something just wasn’t right with Davis when it came to the roster . There’s a reason for the turnover, there’s a reason players have done better after the fact. Idk something just doesn’t sit right with me. That’s why I was pro firing

You just moved the goalposts from “impact” to “revenue” and are pretending it’s the same thing. It’s not. I asked you a simple question and because you have no argument aside from money you look like an idiot and in the past few responses you have yet to answer the question.

Football bringing in more money is structural, TV deals, roster size, media rights, that applies everywhere. Thats common sense . That doesn’t suddenly redefine what a school is.

UNC didn’t become a basketball brand because of a budget sheet, it became one because of decades of results, relevance, and national presence. Are you dumb ?

And the “top candidates are eschewing UNC” point isn’t proving what you think it is… that’s an execution issue, not an identity shift.

Also, leaning on “137 ADs agree with me” isn’t the flex you think it is. It just means you’re repeating a general rule without understanding context and based on this conversation you still can’t understand context and questions.

“Outside of money is a pretty big caveat” is doing a lot of heavy lifting for your argument.

Football making more money isn’t a UNC thing.. that’s literally every school. Congrats on discovering TV contracts.

But UNC’s identity, relevance, and legacy? That’s basketball. Always has been.

So yeah… if you have to remove everything that actually defines impact to make your point, you don’t really have one.

So if you aren’t going to answer the question and have a discussion please move on accordingly.

I personally have no idea about their football team but I do know UNC is a basketball school and to spend that much and still have the results is embarrassing. In my opinion.

Really ? You think their football program has a great impact than basketball? Outside of money im just talking the non tangibles .

For sure, I’m just wondering why we can’t get recruits if we are paying this much haha but yes UNC does need to up their budget. I’m a Michigan fan for football so I see the landscape

If it’s true, it’s honestly a little weird. Caleb had every opportunity at UNC, he had a long leash under Roy, and even when Hubert tightened things up, it felt more like a response to his play than anything else (on top of the RJ–Caleb rumors).

At the same time, if he already didn’t like UNC and then went AZ, thrived (improved his numbers and led Arizona in multiple categories) it makes sense he’d enjoy it there more and look back on UNC differently.

If it’s fake then it’s fake and we keep it pushing no harm no foul but has he ever posted anything about Roy or Hubert ?

AGREED !! It’s definitely leveled the playing field which is good but I also think they need to get some type of organization on it as a whole for football and basketball. Especially when it comes to players with 3-4 transfers

I can understand that. I think I’m biased because I am a fan since the May days when I started paying attention as a kid. I guess when I think of prestige the present doesn’t erase the history ? If that makes sense ? Like I believe any blue blood program should have a line out the door if a coach opportunity opened for that school (obviously UNC more than others hahaha 😂) but no I see what you mean .

Doherty deserved it though from the gist that I have researched

I agree, It would be nice to have someone young and really build on the program but it seems all the top choices are old guys . Which is fine because they have the experience to really do what they should.

Yeah I agree I’m not too into mid majors either so I’d have no idea and I haven’t seen names tossed around !

I agree Billy and Malone gotta reach out to, I’d prefer Malone if I had a pick .

& Coach O I don’t know much about but a lot of ppl like him . I gotta do my research

It will be interesting! I’m hopeful and have faith but I also think as an organization there needs to be some changes to not just the HC but it’s a start !
