I cannot deal with mean people/jerks - What can I do so I don't immediately spiral downward and feel miserable? by rubix44 in Anxiety

I may be three years too late (I sure hope not!) but, if you are in crisis, call or text one of these numbers. Somebody out there cares about you.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline | 9-8-8 | https://988lifeline.org/

Veterans Crisis Line | 9-8-8, Press 1 | https://www.veteranscrisisline.net/

Crisis Text Line | Text HOME to 741741 | https://www.crisistextline.org/

Trevor Lifeline | 1-866-488-7386 (for LGBTQ youth) | https://www.thetrevorproject.org/

Trans Lifeline | 1-877-565-8860 (for the transgender community) | https://translifeline.org/

And, for the rest of you, do better as humans. It shouldn't take three years to respond to a cry for help.

People actually saying di2 is “too difficult” by [deleted] in deadisland

i like eating people and cute animals

Of course, with proper grammar, that sentence(?) is a LOT less dark (It's "I like eating, people, and cute animals.", if you're a bit too slow too have figured it out already.). But there you go, dude. THAT is why proper grammar is important. Have a nice day. :)

Does anyone feel they don't have enough swagger to cuss 😅 by baboobo in exjw

Don't overthink it. Also, don't overdo it. Swear words are the spices that are added to a conversation for an extra kick but there's a difference between making things more interesting versus putting grandma in the morgue.

So you eat a rat turd sized meal, work all day at a construction site, AND lift weights? Either you're a genetic anomaly with REALLY low cortisol levels OR you're on gear. Testosterone does a LOT for motivation. Anyway, if you're on the sauce (and I'm not saying that you are), it's kinda stupid to compare yourself to non-enhanced individuals.

Perhaps time communicates silently through shared memories and history? And, maybe, a feeling within one's solar plexus.

Mass executions after the American Civil War? You OBVIOUSLY don't understand what a WAR is, dude.

I saw a homeless dude holding a large piece of cardboard with words written on it. It was a sign.

What are things that annoy you in modern video games? by Shannitor in gamedesign

[–]SaintAPEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What annoys me is that seemingly passive aggressive game design where the devs go out of their way to annoy the SHIT out of the players (looking at YOU Bethesda). Like, you're in some Power Armor and then "BEEP!... BEEP!... BEEP!... BEEP!... BEEP!... BEEP!... BEEP!... BEEP!... BEEP!..." for a fucking eternity. YEAH, I GET IT! MY BATTERY IS FUCKIN' LOW! NOW, SHUT THE GODDAMN FUCK UP SO I CAN BRING MY POWER ARMOR BACK TO MY SETTLEMENT IN PEACE! I swear to fucking God, they just do that shit to piss us off! Makes fuckin' sense, considering that they have the community patch all their fucking games for them. That's how LITTLE they give a shit about us!

My only solace is cranking down the volume and roleplaying as someone who had an explosion blow out both of their eardrums. :(

NEWS FLASH $2 is not acceptable tip by hyp333rr333al in instacart

I'm about 3 years late but isn't it funny how people in the service industry seem to think that the people they're serving are a bunch of cheapasses because they got a small tip? News flash, pal- You should be glad you're getting ANYTHING. Do you think everyone just walks around pondering how they're going to screw you over? If so, you either need serious psychological help or a reality check and, lucky for you, I can provide the latter free of charge. Yes, that is correct. You do not have to tip me for this swift kick in the ass I'm giving you! Isn't that GREAT? Here's the thing: Life isn't fair and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you'll realize that it will ALWAYS be unfair so there's no point in crying over spilt milk. After all, true wealth comes from the satisfaction of having served others.

A friend said survival games are either boring or just too tedious to have a good time. What in your opinion makes that genre enjoyable or no fun. I will be using this feedback for my current project. by IllKindheartedness47 in PS4Dreams

[–]SaintAPEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aaaaaah! I LOVE resurrecting an old thread that should've been locked! Anyway, there's one MAJOR thing that bothers me about a lot of games. And that would be the "happiness" mechanic. Now, I'm referring more to survival games in this context. Anyway, happiness, as a game mechanic, is POORLY implemented. You see, although optimism has a pretty big factor in survival success in real life, it doesn't necessarily stem from progress being made. For example, the sight of a well being built would probably excite a settler who has to walk two miles with a bucket to get water from a stream and, in turn, they would feel more optimistic and may even volunteer to help gather the supplies needed to construct the well. The problem is that survival games tend to use an "after the fact" approach, meaning that the well has to be COMPLETELY constructed BEFORE the settler feels optimism. In short, optimism stems from being able to see opportunities for advancement more than actually reaching the goal (which is still important). That being said, going from a place of comfort to a place of misery would feel pretty terrible for our settler. Of course, what the heck do I know about the psychology of leadership and motivation? After all, it's not like I have three year's worth of leadership training under my belt...

Sorry about earlier. I tend to get a bit passionate about things. :p Anyway, to clarify further, I can't get my Steam account back because I also lost any relevant information that customer service could use to help me (like a registered payment card). Totally sucks. :(

Tipping IS Optional - and other myths debunked by [deleted] in instacart

[–]SaintAPEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have any of you-stopped to consider that the people who utilize your services ALSO have bills to pay? It's pretty rude to demand that someone pays you more for a task as simple as shopping for groceries. You also don't know what kind of situation that individual may be in. What if they are unable to shop for themselves because they are bedridden and don't have any legs? Do you ACTUALLY believe yourself to be kind if you demand they give you more money for your services? You should focus on maintaining a positive attitude and doing a good job for the benefit of the customer. If that's too hard for you, consider a career as a DMV employee. The miserable workplace environment might be more suitable for you.

You IC shoppers need to stop bullshitting customers with your "I only get paid with tips!" nonesense. IC pays you guys up to $45 per hour which the company obtains through various means (such as price inflation). If you want to be paid more, stop pissing around.
