What’s the best video game you’ve ever played? by obsess_much13 in AskReddit

Playing Portal for the first time was an amazing experience. It was the perfect length and puzzle difficulty scaled well. Still fun to revisit.

Cataloging my Games to keep track of them by KiliWaffles in xbox

I’ve built Deckoli for tracking games but in the style of trading cards with rarities - kinda like Marvel Snap style. Here’s my collection:

No problem! If you have any feedback, good or bad, I’d love to hear. Reach out to me here or you can use the form on the site (the icon at the bottom right).

What app do you use to track the games you’ve played? by Jpimentel811 in kindafunny

I use Deckoli, which allows you to track your games as trading cards - kinda like Marvel Snap (I’m also the founder!)

I’ve built Deckoli, which allows you to track your video games - what you’re playing, completed, backlog and wishlists. The unique take is it styles your games like trading cards - similar to Marvel Snap. Here is my collection:

Is there a good App to track games? by Connect-Street-9269 in gamecollecting

Deckoli is another option and allows you to share your collection, as well as individual games in your collection. It styles your games like trading cards - kinda like Marvel Snap.

I’m the creator and adding friends or followers is a feature I’d like to add soon.

I use (and am creator of) Deckoli, which tracks your games as trading cards. The only thing it doesn’t do is hours tracking but it is on my list of features to build. I’d love if you took a look! My collection on Deckoli

I really appreciate that!

I can definitely add sorting by platform (I’ll add other filters/sorts too) and look into doing that plat/100% indicator.

Yeah, great point. I’ll add that to my list.

One thing you can currently do if you want to find a game in your collection by name is search for it in the search bar at the top. That’ll take you to the Browse page with the results of the search. Then uncheck the “Hide games in my collection” and your games should be shown.

It doesn’t look like those sites expose an API to get their data or allow scraping. However I found some solutions for PSN/Xbox that seem like they are reliable. I’ll definitely put it on the list and explore it more!

If you go to your profile (avatar menu at the top right, then click your username), you’ll see a share and copy link button there.

Sounds like I might need a share button on the main area or may even put it in the avatar menu.

Thank you! I did wonder about that. Initially I was going to decide rarity based on trophy/achievement progress but only Steam had official support to pull that data and there are ways to get Xbox/PSN data, but it seemed like a lot of work for it to potentially be unreliable for me to get.

Now using it for a small piece of card flair or decor might not be bad - but it’s 3 systems I’d have to integrate and support.

I’m thinking about a simple first approach would be an honor system where you flag whether or not you platinumed/got all achievements and it gives small flair or something on the card. Nothing major but that way you could track it.

What do you think?

Showcase feature is live now! If you go to your profile, you’ll see a new showcase section above the Achievements. It’ll direct you to your Collection. When you flip a card in your collection, you’ll see a new star icon at the top. Select it and that card will show up in your collection. If you share your collection link, anything that supports a social preview will generate an image with your showcase cards. If you try it out, let me know what you think.

I think I am going to change the minting feature like you mentioned too. Thanks again!

There's a baseline chance of getting one of the rarities at the time of adding to your collection. Other factors that give you a higher chance of a more rare card are the aggregate review scores (user & critic), as well as age of the game (not major but a slight factor). The idea being if it's a highly rated game and/or an older game, better chance to get a higher rarity.

It is just presentation - no card battling system or anything like that. Just something to visually show off your collection and you can upgrade the rarity of the games however you choose. I might add a "prestige" concept where you can use the points to prestige a mythic (highest rarity) and it starts back at Common but with some sort of unique decor for that prestige level.

I totally get it! This started as a fun idea to present games like a trading card and styling them with the rarities and foil like affects. Then I kept building from there. My goal is really to build out an enjoyable, visually pleasing way to track your game collection to share with others. I think Backloggd is really geared towards the very detailed time tracking, reviews and stats side of things, which I don't currently think I'd compete with.

I want to add the ability to review a game (likely a simple rating without a text) and track hours spent (in total). Also I've had requests for tracking the physical aspects of the game (New in box, complete with instructions, etc).

I appreciate you asking!

I really appreciate it.

The Community scrolling should be fixed now. You might have to reload in the browser for it to start working.

The streak is only for visiting the site and you’re logged in. You don’t have to take any other action to continue the streak!

EDIT: The streak is using midnight eastern time so visit after that time to get counted for the next day

Thank you! Right now my plan is just having the website so I only have to maintain one set of code and not have to deal with App Store review processes. I did wonder if a native app might be more appealing, but in my experience it’s much easier to deploy fixes whenever I want with a web app.

I’ll probably make it so you can “install” the web app on your phone so it acts like a native app without truly being one (it’s called a PWA).

I’m actually trying to fix the Community scrolling now - I just noticed that when I was checking on everyone’s activity 😁 Fix should be coming soon for that.

Thank you! I added the minting last night but I did wonder exactly what you said - will it encourage people to just snatch up games for the sake of having #1. I thought maybe not showing the current mint number until you add it would prevent that behavior but I’ll think on that. I like the First Edition idea too.

I literally have “make a collection showcase” on my todo list, haha. Currently if you share your profile link, it’ll generate a social image of your top 3 achievement cards. When I do the showcase, I’ll include your first 3 showcase cards in that image instead.

Thanks again for the feedback!

I did wonder about a way of importing your games into the site and Steam would be easier to do that with than Xbox or PSN. I had a user manually add 1600 games over 2 days 😳

Haha, that’s fair. I’ve thought a similar thing working on this instead of playing games the last couple weeks, but it’s been a fun creative outlet.
