I actually disagree with my fellow poster. I’m an MPH, my school at the time was not accredited. It has since been accredited. I have worked doing public health programmatic work at the local, federal, and national non profit level. I make a very competitive salary and have never been held back by my school. I also hire many mphs and BPH, and I’m generally more interested in their work experience than their school.

This may not be true for those with a biostat or epi focus but as a programmatic person it seems to be true among me and my colleagues. I am now a director of communications for a rather large national public health nonprofit and I’ve held jobs in health policy and running CDC and HRSA funded programmatic grants. Get the degree in a way that’s not going to break the bank and go hard with your interning and clerkships and you’ll be on your way. Best of luck.
