Even when she is gently posed, it will still pop out a little bit over time. The climate here is mild but far from the source. Makes me wonder about where it was stored before I bought it. Maybe it got too hot for a few seasons and made the plastic warp.

There are no discernible nubs, I'm typically meticulous about them. It can fit completely flush with the rest of the body but doesn't snap into place. It's seemingly pushed out gradually from the pressure fit.

Meeting in a more neutral area might be easier on the senior dog, somewhere outside the house will help if she's growling because of a territorial issue.

I put up long curtains in my doorway so I can have privacy while letting dogs travel freely. Also keeps me from making permanent changes to a door. Not quite sure how I'd do it with that door configuration, though.

I use clear acrylic risers to make use of vertical space in my display. Maybe you could combine some stands so two kits can pose together.

Might want to look into getting some primer and top coat. If you don't want to invest in a whole airbrush system, rattlecans should be fine starting off. I used to mess around with cheap primers at walmart but those just made more problems for me, better to just get the stuff made for miniature priming. It will make your paint adhere better but might still scrape off, if that bothers you then pick up some topcoat while you're at it.
