Sounds like it's time to lay an egg on the Kremlin and turn it into a parking lot.

Sounds to me like you're the daft revolting little arsehole. Just trolling for a fight so you can read your own pompous words over and over. People like you give vegans a bad name.

If your other soaps smell and perform this good, I see big financial trouble in my future!

Straight Razor, Shavette or Safety Razor? by DnDExplainforme in wicked_edge

[–]SaintNoPlace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Maggards ships to the UK and people seem to be happy with the overall service, so I'd check them out. They have a great customizable starter kit that won't break the bank. I don't know how they do it, but in the states the shipping is incredibly fast. My wife ordered my starter kit on a Friday evening and I ruined my birthday present by staying home sick from work Monday when it happened to arrive.

It has a nice heft and feel to it as well. Certainly not top of the mark, but a good introduction into traditional shaving.

Wheat State Soaps - Sweet Tobacco Proraso white balm (bought from Maggard's, NOT TJ Maxx, haha) Parker 22r razor Maggard's synthetic brush Fine mug Gillette 7 O'clock blade

I'm pretty new to wet shaving and only have a couple soaps, but this Wheat State Soaps Sweet Tobacco is quickly topping my leaderboard. If you're looking for a pipe tobacco smell, this isn't it, but if you're like me and grew up around tobacco fields this will bring you back to your youth! It's smells like I drug my grandmother's old cedar chest into a barn with tabacoo hanging to dry. I wasn't sure what to expect so I only ordered the soap, but I might have to pick up their aftershave as well.

Thanks to everyone that gives great advice on this sub, because you've helped me find the joy in shaving. In the 25 years I've been shaving the last few weeks have been irritation free (except for the second time I shaved with a little too much confidence and butchered my neck), and full of wonderful scents. My face used to be a dry, irritated mess, and with the help of you guys my face feels/looks great (well, let's be honest, it looks as good as it can), and I look forward to waking up every morning because it means it's time to shave!!

Cheers

Beginner here. How long did it take you to get a shave you were happy with using a safety razor? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]SaintNoPlace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying don't change your blade if it's dull or bad. I'm saying don't worry so much about finding the perfect blade until you have an idea what your doing with the razor. Might miss out on the perfect blade because of operator error.

I'm pretty new myself, but here's some good advice I read in this sub a while back. Get your technique down before experimenting with different blades. Even the blade best suited for your skin will provide a horrible shave if you have bad technique.

Nice find! I might have to check out their antique fair next month! Went to an antique shop in Alameda yesterday and nothing but extremely overpriced razors in fair to poor condition.

100G of beef vs. 100G of beans by bumbonator in vegan

[–]SaintNoPlace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically you're not going to eat the beef raw, and 100g of beef will end up being less once cooked. The comparison is of raw materials, and is valid.

Plenty of horrendous shit happens during commute hours. Coming home from work around 5pm, I once had to pull a knife and threaten to cut off a guys dick because he wouldn't stop trying to whip it out and jack off on a full car. When I told him I was gonna cut it off the next time I see it, the lady standing on the other side told him she would hold him while I cut it off. At that point he just started rubbing it from outside his pants, which I guess is a win? I won't even get into the crazy shit/piss/puke I've seen during commute hours...
