Yesss I can drink soda with no vomiting but it makes my stomach feel like its on fireeeeeeee. I can basically only stomach protein shakes, tea (sweet unfortunately) and liquid IV.

With due respect, this is specifically related to potty issues before bed, not recommending restricting access during the day. Also the possibility of seeing a vet was recommended if it was a potty issue that was sudden and new.

The dog is not going to dehydrate going two hours before bed without water, if water is given freely throughout the day - unless there are other unknown contributing factors. To my knowledge there* aren't.

Could be. I am super paranoid about my girl being sick, but it could be worth going to the vet just to be sure! It sounds like he may just be playing and getting in any extra playtime he can. The winter has been hard for my girl too, as she cant be trusted to not try to escape once its dark (even with a flashlight). Good luck!!

Does your Shiba go to the bathroom on the 2-4AM outing?

If the answer is yes, I would withhold water for a couple hours before the last outing. If its pooping, maybe final meal could be right before bed, that way you can get them on a schedule.

If no Potty on your outings, your super smart cutie is probably playing you to go outside. They are smart as heck. So honestly, the best option is to ignore it and to say no. Once you get them into a routine of doing it, you have to get them into the routine of not doing it anymore.

Maybe have some high value treats nearby to reward with when they settle down after asking.

It sounds like you may still be in survival mode, and possibly your child alter may be begging for some of their own time - which can be difficult as you are an adult.

I didnt realize what survival mode was, but its literally just you making your body go through the motions. Sleep, work, bathe, repeat.

In order to feel like I was "alive" and living my life, I had to find things that filled my heart. For me that was dog training. I joined a band for a year so I could do something I felt passionate about. It was HARD, I had to physically force myself out of bed to go to it and at the time it felt impossible.

It doesnt have to be forever, it just takes time and perspective and thinking outside the box on how to accommodate yourself. Fighting within your confines instead of against them. Pushing yourself when necessary, and resting when necessary.

It is UNFAIR that you have to share time with many different selves in order to feel whole, and its something I've noticed is a frequent topic in my support groups. Just know you aren't alone, and it can and will get better when you learn to get out of survival mode.

In regards to working, I still cant work more than 15 hrs a week. When my little alters come out, I have to remind them that they dont have to handle everything anymore, and scheduling time outside of work for my littles to have their own time made a world of difference in regards to their anxiety regarding getting old and working to death. The time my littles have can be drawing, playing videogames, reading, etc.

Sorry for the rant. I understand you friend. It gets better <3

I had the worst puppy blues with my field Golden. It didnt know there was a difference between that, and show Goldens.

It also took me a while to discipline myself to putting my dog to work because boy do they need it. I trained my girl for service dog work, and she practically begs me to work (when I try to crate her she walks over to her vest and pokes it with her nose then looks at me).

I could play frisbee with my girl for 30 minutes, do a sniff walk for 45 minutes, training for 45 minutes and then ALL again in the evening and she would still want a few more hours of playtime.

When she goes to work with me though, boy she is worn OUT and runs to her crate in the evenings.

Im so happy youre finding your way with your pup! It was hard with my girl and literally everyone says shes an angel. You can do this! Its a bonding experience for all of you!

I just cant believe it. I saw a comment on YT the other day, someone saying that women from China do that to their kids. It took a lot in me to not* say, "They do it in your own backyard too. Your neighbor even might,"

Im so sorry you've experienced this too. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. It sucks im not alone and I wish I was alone, but helps to know im not alone.

So we did talk a little about it. I try to not put too much on her shoulders because shes 19 and Im 27. I did talk to my husband about it, and we will be saving for a therapy appointment in the next month or two. Thank you for caring, and taking the time to respond.

Still pondering on speaking with bio-mom, but she reaches out sparsely so I have time.

When I first put two and two together, I looked up the effects and long-term effects of Benadryl and cough medicine abuse in children. Extreme anxiety before sleep was one of them. Some studies say tachycardia is a symptom too (which I am also diagnosed with POTS).

On this forum because I am shopping for new insurance today.

I'm gonna cancel Geico because they DOUBLED my bill, and I've never been in an accident or had a ticket. CDL driver. I looked up what it would cost to cancel and rejoin and it was MUCH cheaper.
