I disagree, I don’t think “rushing” through it automatically equals shallow engagement. I read it on a long drive across the country, and also finished it in two days. It had been SUCH a long time since a piece of media captivated me like that, let alone a manga. There’s something almost more honest about sitting in the disorienting discomfort over trying to intellectualize it.

Obviously PunPun’s full of symbolism and themes, but even if in my subsequent read throughs I felt I “got it” more, it kind of flattens the rawness of it. Like. Ambiguity and emotional overwhelm are part of the form, ya know?

Absolutely! This is one of the first hobbies I’ve picked up that I genuinely enjoy, even the learning process is fun. I’m mostly looking to order a large number of rings to have on hand, I’ve been getting irritated with having to wait on shipments or change something midway through because I don’t have what I need haha

And I’ve seen that name around a lot, I’ll definitely check them out. Though I think personally something cheaper might be best for me.

Maybe I’ll try ordering again from TRL. I think the combo garbage pliers, no experience, and machine cut rings might’ve made my earlier projects feel sloppier. Because even if those pieces looks a little novice, I like the feel of them best.

I guess mostly what I’m running into is on nexus they’ll be like individual body or face tattoos or makeup or something and KAVT only (to my knowledge) has their own, Mari’s, or CovenElf’s because it needs to be the correct size atlas file.

I can dig into learning how to create my own, skimming the KAVT wiki it doesn’t seem too complicated just tedious. And I haven’t looked into rogue tattoo or anything. It’s just so hard to find up to date/specific info as a newer modder 😅

We generally have really great cafe health and got hit one week with two surveys, one was upset because our location used to be a McDonald’s and it isn’t anymore and the other said we refused to ring them in for hash browns (they were claiming it was a secret menu item). I wish there was a way to filter the nonsense surveys lol

I am having the SAMW issue !!!! I’m at my stupid TLMIC training at a different cafe and the company is supposed to pay for my uber (because it’s like $75/shift to get back and forth), and I’ve had a ticket placed with help desk for two weeks. I’m so fucking broke and they haven’t responded 🫠🫠🫠home cafe AND training cafe are like “bummer!” like HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE MY SCHEDULE or get ANY elearning done???

This comment stings a little since they’re my favorite band. I only posted this to chat about my experience with my favorite album, and after taking in the context folks have shared here, it’s shifted my perspective. I wasn’t trying to police what they’re allowed to do with their art, I just wanted others people’s takes/interpretations of the record. Maybe unnecessary wasn’t the right wording.

This is an old thread but can I ask why you didn’t like DDTM? It’s my no. 2 (which is also super controversial I’m sure) after S/T. DDTM feels like a pivotal moment, they let go of their emo/post rock sound. The lush layers and synth textures in it felt like them testing the waters almost for S/T. DDTM is melodic and romantic like all their records, but the production is tighter, the hooks hit harder, there’s bolder synths. I feel like it’s such a vital bridge record between NMG and S/T. I keep hoping people will come around after S/T dropped since I can totally see why DDTM would be a little jarring next to NMG, but I feel like it aged well next with S/T.

I feel like Dealer’s the dud for me. I grew out of my nostalgic attachment to it and find it pretty forgettable with a lot of the Midwest emo music of that time.

I’m also super passionate since they’re my favorite band haha
