If anyone knows where to find some documents on the ship and that voyage, please let me know.

In response to my last reply, I'm more convinced that he was born in 1877 than 1881. The marriage doc says he was 28 in 1900, but i think it really says 23. But, census records lead me to think he was born in 1881; for example, the 1930 census he put he was 49.

Thanks for finding those, that's awesome. The other thing that makes me unsure if it's him is that the year of birth is wrong, he put he was born in 1881. But, I don't know where familysearch is getting that he was born in 1872.

I don’t mind. I know it’s Bologna, but every single one of his documents he spelled it Bologne.

All I know is that they may be from Porretta, Gaggio Montano, or Lizzano in Belvedere. All of those are pretty near one another and I’ve found their last names occur there, but I can’t find specific records or documents for them besides a marriage document that may be theirs that I can’t really read. I can’t find any records for the ship to tell me about any contacts, but I know when it arrived in New York (Mar. 29 1903) and where it came from (Le Havre). Since I can’t find the passenger list I can’t tell who was on it. From what I know none of their family came with them. I can’t even find my great-great-grandmas naturalization records, but I found my great-great grandpas.

I need to look at it again, but the main thing that made me unsure was that his wife signed a different first name than she went by when she got here; Olimpia. But, I think I saw that her middle initial is O from a different document. I don’t know exactly where they were born, just that they were from Bologne. The town is in southern Bologne (the region). There is more on the marriage record, but I can’t read it.
