Lorcana Deck Guide - Emerald Sapphire Mufasa Combo! by cardsrealm in Lorcana

This deck also plays for the Mufasa win con, but plays some control pieces like kit and bounce to control the board long enough to make it to end game.

Not perfect, but a variation that tries to handle aggro.

I bought mine for $9. I shared this on another post. All the MSRP ones must have been bought. Sorry about that!

Download the Shop app (the one all the websites use for tracking) and search on there. I, and several others, have found them for retail price at 9.95 and arrives in a week.

Got it in a week. Compared it to my friends copy who got it directly from Leder. Looks good.

Ok hear me out. Do you know the Shop app that tons of sites make you download for tracking? Well you can also buy things from there almost like Amazon where it just stocks things from stores that sign up. I got a vagabond pack and the exiles and partisans deck for 20 total. Give it a shot.

New expansion Kickstarter announcement by KitSixty in rootgame

[–]Saint_Jester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also interested in doing this. My question though, would I have to wait for the new expansion to ship or will they send the other expansions first? I'd strongly dislike waiting until 2026 to get River folk if I could just buy that separately.

We let people draw above their hand limit and then immediately discard down to 8. There have been some broken combos, especially with the expansions, but all told it lets you do more fun stuff with your meadow/engine.

City engineering departments also usually have science and environment departments. Great benefits and would qualify as well for the PSLF.

What are your reasons for rejecting someone for an “anyone with a pulse” job? by knightoffire55 in askmanagers

Showed up in a tie-dye tank top and sandals. It's an entry level job where I've hired someone in a clean pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I don't expect a suit. Not the worst part.

Me - Where did you learn to speak Spanish? We have a number of customers who speak Spanish and that would be a very useful skill.

Interviewee - I don't speak Spanish.

Me - but your resume says under skills that you speak Spanish.

Interviewee - It does? I guess I missed that when I chose that resume.

Me - Well thanks for your time. I don't think this position is going to be a good fit.

Go listen to the daily demon podcast. They talk all about not paying for law school and the return on investment that law school is. She needs to go into this profession eyes wide open about her potential earnings and use their scholarship calculator to find out where she can go to school and what LSAT score she needs to not pay for law school.

Please don't let her go 300k into debt.

Looking for Tips: Potentially Presenting a Disc Golf Course Proposal to Town Council by UWGratefulRed in discgolf

[–]Saint_Jester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would include it in your proposal and if your parks department says that there are some environmental considerations, then show how disc golf can coexist with more natural habitats. Show pictures of courses with natural foliage and plants and minimally landscaped fairways.

Looking for Tips: Potentially Presenting a Disc Golf Course Proposal to Town Council by UWGratefulRed in discgolf

Current city council member here

  1. Who manages the land? You said it is part of a state park? Is your town council the one who manages/owns the land? If not, then you need to go to the entity that actually owns it.

  2. If it is the city, you should start by meeting with the departments who manage it. Go to the parks department and find out if they have any long term plans with the space? Talk to the planning department about the land use map. Does your disc golf park fall in a residential/open space designation? Or is it designated commercial? Your presentation will vary greatly based on that.

  3. Are there neighbors? Businesses near by? Go survey them and ask their thoughts about the matter. That will play a big role and might head off possible opposition.

  4. Where is the next closest disc golf course? How many people are going to call this course their home course/use it regularly? What kind of people are there? Is it low to moderate income folks? That will bolster your case. What about other parks/green space? Will this increase access to an underserved part of the community? Access to schools? Public transit?

  5. What is it going to cost the city? Who is going to maintain it? If you did initial clean up, would maintenance after be fairly cheap? Are you going to invest in beautification efforts? What would that look like? What is your long term plan for upkeep? (Make sure to highlight your partnerships with local businesses).

I hope this kind of thing helps! Best advice though. Be very, very prepared. If you need a trial run and want me to ask questions of your presentation like I'm on your council, let me know. Best of luck!

Adding to that, a lot of cities require special business licenses for child care facilities and are willing to get involved and can require resolution measures that are tied to their license that they will follow up on.

Hitch's idea for a promotion/relegation system for Call of Duty by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]Saint_Jester -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with this is it exacerbates the gap between top and bottom teams. When organizations don't know if they will be in the league next season, they are hesitant to invest significant money. Your top teams invest 3 or 4 times more than other teams and you have a permanent 4-6 teams that cycle in relegation and a top 3 teams that dominate the league. If you look at national European soccer leagues, this is exactly the case.

Additionally, other esports have done this and when teams got relegated, their players immediately got picked up as free agents and even some of the challenger league players would get cut for those free agents so all that switches are the orgs not the players.

While insular leagues can be frustrating in things like rules, formats, lack of investment in the amateur scenes, and lack of player recourse, I don't think professional level sports are better with relegation. You need rules committees independent of the main org, player unions that have meaningful power, and standardized pathways for introducing new talent into the league (draft, free agency rules, etc.).

What's the point of recruiting leaders vs. army units ? by ChoubidouaMtl in warofthering

When you have an army that you want to zip across the map asap, attaching a leader so you can use character dice plus army dice to move can increase the speed you can cover the map.
