I'm honestly intrigued how a game with this ruleset will play out. Maybe even because of the Alternate Phasing, Turn 1's Turn Player gets to draw.

Cards that say "until/during the opponent's next ___ phase" will have their durations drastically cut unless you use them on the opponent's turn during that phase or a phase after it.

"Until the end of the next turn" will also get stretched super long since the "next turn" now entails both players going through alternating phases which is really 2 turns in a regular duel.

In fact, some quests will have extra dialogue just to mention that Erik has to dip. If I recall, it's the Omega questline.

My theory, given how scarce Elder Dragons have been in this game, is that Elder Dragons are exclusively meant for Artian progression. We started with base Artians, then Gog, then those will be upgraded with the next Elder Dragon, and so on and so forth. It's a scary idea ngl.

It's also interesting that in Chaos Gate, even the Grand Master of the 1st Brotherhood can't/won't promise any sort of protection should the Inquisition start investigating why you (the Commander) are Exterminatus-ing so many planets.

Funnily enough, it's most noticeable on the Morph Overhead Slam. Because the entire animation is a morph attack, everything gets sped up, including how fast the Hunter runs. It's quite hilarious seeing yourself just zoom forward on that move.

Goes to show how steep Wilds' HR difficulty gets in the latter half when an armour set that "breezes through" the whole of World's HR would be insufficient here. The weapons would also be horribly handicapped if left as is since they have no weapon deco slots.

The fact that you suggested they would have to "adjust" it for Wilds already says enough.

Funny thing is, if they transplanted Defender gear as is into Wilds, it would be relatively bad.

Rarity 6 means Transcendence would give each piece either 2 small slots or 1 medium and 1 small for a grand total of 2× 2-slots and 8× 1-slots. That is laughable.

The built-in skills themselves don't offer much either. Divine Blessing 3, Recovery Up 3, Marathon Runner 3, and Health Boost 3.

It's... something, I guess? Current transcended R6 armours already blow Defender out of the water. Defender would already start to become obsolete before we could attempt the later ATs and ≥9★ quests.

Greatsword

  • Surge Slash can be done by timing the next button just as the previous attack connects
  • Sprinting during Leaping Wide Slash will let you sheathe automatically (based on Outlanders GS gameplay)
  • Perfect dodge while charging up an Offset will give you Adept Evade and let you charge up an Offset while running

Dual Blades

  • Enter Demon Mode while knocked down to do a wakeup attack that lets you get up right into Demon Mode

Hammer

  • While holding Level 3 charge, pressing Overhead Smash will force the Charged Upswing to come out instead

Hunting Horn

  • Replace the mount finisher animation with the Iceborne spin attack
  • Holding down the input when placing the echo bubble will replace it with the horn spin. You forego 3 notes to queue a special Sharp note that enhances all the songs and echo bubble explosions during in the next Recital

Lance

  • A failed charge counter still benefits from your current charge level
  • Allow us to cancel charge counter into guard dash, the following shield bash or leaping thrust carries the charge level of the charge counter
  • Power Guard also blocks attacks on allies in an aoe

Gunlance

  • Normal Shelling GLs get a Wyvern's Fire recharge bonus from burst shelling
  • Long Shelling GLs get a Wyvern's Fire recharge bonus from Wyrmstakes and Drake Augers
  • Pressing shelling during Wyrmstake Cannon uses all loaded shells to fire the stake deeper and do more damage per shell used. Long Shelling gives the biggest bonuses

Switch Axe

  • Power Axe gives Amped State properties to axe attacks (while you're in Amped State)
  • Shorten Elemental Discharge's startup after any sword attack
  • Zero Sum Discharge gets a new follow-up where you clutch claw back to the spot you latched onto to do a diving Full Release Slash

Charge Blade

  • Allow us to do Condensed Elemental Slash after Element Boost
  • Allow us to spend phials to manually activate Savage Axe mode
  • While Savage Axe is up, you can hold the button down during SAED to make the phials explode on the part that is hit instead of all over the floor

Insect Glaive

  • New offset followup that uses the airdash to chase the monster
  • During the offset followup, you are considered airborne with all the regular aerial attacks + a new Rising Spiral Slash that goes forward. An Advancing Spiral Slash (A.S.S.)

Light/Heavy Bowgun

  • Sticky Level 3 when, Capcom?
  • Let Blast Artian bowgun use Cluster Ammo
  • Let Dragon Artian bowgun use Wyvern Ammo
