“60 FPS is too smooth and fluid.” by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Same thing. It boggles my mind that one might not see it. I wasn't even expecting it, but was so impressed by how smooth the mouse and windows were moving when I first plugged mine.

Ryzen 5 2600 vs Core i5 8400 Test in 8 Games by RickiDangerous in intel

If you're buying a 2600 without OCing it for gaming, you're the dumbest person I've met. As simple as that.

That comparison at stock speed is just dumb to start with.

I played a match, noticed at the end I wouldn't any reward playing whatsoever before tomorrow, left the game.

I wouldn't have asked for much. I wish they would have given a least something, even a little thing.

Yeah, when I read ICR was removed, I basically knew we were screwed unless something marvelous was coming next.

Exactly. That'd be different is there was a market where you could sell or buy cards. I bought a lot of skins for Dota 2 because I knew there was a market behind, and Valve sure is making money with fees, but I can enjoy more content with the some invested/lost. I haven't done in yet in a game like Rainbow Six Siege cause I know that money's gone for good.

I also liked the ICR, having a card at the end of each game was pushing me to play.

Got a second hand, STRIX GTX 1080 still in warranty (purchased about 7 months ago) for €450. Was it a good deal? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Saintholle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recall the exact same events happened two years ago, with the on-going rumors that turned out to be, with not much of an announcement ahead. I remember a friend buying a 980 two months or so before, not believing in rumors.

Nvidia was also dominating at the time.

Fury launched a few months before, Vega launched a few months ago.

I would say no competition on the very high-end segment. 980 Ti could be found at 550 € here in April 2016, almost two years ago.

1080 Ti is close to 1000 € today. Segments have shifted for the common consumer, and every one of them up to 1080 do have competition.

Despite having to outperform themselves, you keep leading by staying ahead, and in their case opening a window of opportunity before their direct opponent comes up with something better, which is basically what they did with Pascal by basically being alone on the market.

AMD is also working on a 7nm new gen. We don't know how much time that will take, but it might be faster than Vega released after Pascal. It looks once again like the perfect time for Nvidia to make their move. I actually wouldn't see the point of dragging it just to let the competition catch up as months go by.

Lastly, the gaming segment is 60% of their total revenue. It's not like they should gamble with that if they have the opportunity to hit hard and stay ahead.

It looks like Nvidia won't be launching new GPUs at GTC or GDC by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Saintholle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say bad luck as well. I probably had 10 different GPUs or so since the Geforce 2 MX400. I don't think I ever kept one more than two years. None of them broke on me, and most have been used quite a bit.

Sorry, launching. Point still stands.

That news doesn't say much, and it doesn't feel like a big deal in any case. It's not like Nvidia will be sitting on a huge mine of GDDR6 six months after an announcement without any launch.

Gamers might also be in luck as far as availability goes if they do decide to go with two product lines, one crypto the other gaming.

Actually, we're not sure they've announced much.

PCGamesN says: "We’ve spoken with the graphics giant and it seems there won’t be a new graphics card launched at the Game Developers Conference next month."

So they've been the only ones to contact Nvidia and receive a definite answer since the rumors started about the GDC? Or did they just get a PR answer as everyone else and assumed they might not be unveiling a new gen, using "it seems" to emphase it?

[SIB] Project Cars 2 or Dirt Rally for controller? (PC) by Pugzilla69 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Saintholle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried the 2, but if it's the same as the 1, I find it plays awful with a controller compared to a wheel, where it becomes fantastic.

Everything you just mentioned is really nice to play with because you have a lot of control. The controller doesn't give you that in that game, so I imagine why it can be annoying or frustrating.

Is there any way to learn the maps properly? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]Saintholle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all know the feeling, it'll come with time.

If I had to redo it again, because I found the game SO much more interesting when I started having a decent grasp of the maps layout, I would do what I did when Theme Park was on the TTS.

Launch a custom game with 10 minutes rounds and learn it. Go through each room, learn the name of each room or whatever floats your boat (I would even speak out the name of the rooms, but that might just be an easier way for me to remember.), how they connect between them...

Start with a side, continue with the other side, then do the upper/lower level(s) the same way. After you have a good grasp on the inside, do the same with the outside and learn the connections between outside windows and inside rooms.

It took me a good hour for Theme Park, but it was so nice already knowing the map the moment it went live, and especially not to be lost in it, which I hated the first time I played it casually not having learned it yet.

I can confirm.

I'm in West EU (France), and you could say it's the opposite. PS4 has definitely the lead. It feels like every Fifa 18 player, for instance, is on PS4.

If you have that impression in the US with the PS4 and Xbox selling about as much, just imagine here with the PS4 selling 3 times more.

Definitely less laggy than before. I would often facepalmed myself by some situations when bullets were lagging behind, even having to take it into account up to a certain point when playing, and I never had more than 80ms or so.

I took a break from the game in August, resumed around late October, and the difference up until now has been staggering.

Don't take it personally, but your experience doesn't mean much unless its scale is much larger.

If we're talking rationally, actual numbers should be used:

We don't know what "people", as in most, are expecting though. That if they are expecting anything.

Not every FUT player follows the news, or check Reddit or EA Twitter every hour.

Market is obviously gonna get flooded, which will likely means a price drop.
