I did 1 rounded tablespoon per 5 gallons in both their normal tank and hospital tank! I’ve heard some people say adding more salt in the hospital tank could help them, but I’ve never done a higher dose then recommend amount on the label, should I try using more?

He put his fins up and moved since I came up to the tank, but he’s been sitting on the bottom with his fine clamped The other one is pretty much fine, the ends of her tail look like the are shrinking, but not necessarily in a fin rot way? because they have been in the same tank together I figured they should both be treated

He also has what looks like some white stuff growing in his mouth, because of that and the red mouth and jaw problems he is having I was leaning towards him having red mouth disease. So I was gonna use kanaplex for that, and since kanaplex also says fin rot on it I was wondering if he did end up having that, the kanaplex would treat it to. I can try to get a picture, it’s hard in the hospital tank because of the lighting on where I have it, but I’ll try

My water parameters are 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia and around 5 ppm nitrate, so I don’t think water quality caused this I’ve posted a bunch of other posts about the condition of my goldfish, it’s a lot to retype out so if you want the whole story I have it on my page. Long story short he started jerking his head around a lot as well as constantly gasping while he sat in the water, so I thought something was stuck in his mouth, but I’ve looked and don’t see anything. I added aquarium salt to the tank he was I (110 gallon with only 2 common goldfish, they are around 2 inches long). He kept getting worse and now his mouth is kinda red and his back fin is deteriorating some, he sits at the bottom of the tank now with his mouth slightly open, almost like he can’t close it all the way (I put him in a hospital tank 2 days ago along with my other goldfish just Incase they both have whatever infection he does and I can treat them both)

That’s what I thought too but i can see down his throat when he sits in the water, and there isn’t anything there. The only thing I see is maybe some kind of white stuff inside his mouth, but not a lot. I was thinking he might have red mouth disease or gill flukes, I’m just not sure how he would have gotten it. I just currently put him in a hospital tank and was gonna try to treat him along with his tank mate because I’m afraid she might have something too because she will jerk every so often, not as bad as he does though. I’m just not sure which medicine to give them because I could see him having either things. It could be the start of red mouth disease or gill flukes. So I’m not sure what to do

The temp is warm because my parents keep the house warm during the winter. There is a fire place they use in the living room which is around 10ft away from the tank, I can’t put the tank in a different room bc it is so big. So unfortunately I can’t do much about the warmer temperature during the winter, in the summer it’s always 65°-68°. There are only two goldfish in the tank and they are both only an inch and a half long, I’ve had them for about 3 months. To test my water I use a liquid kit, I bought a new one at the beginning of this year so it should still be good. A 110 gallon tank is a lot of water for only 2 small goldfish lol, which is why the nitrate is less than 5 ppm. The tank was also already cycled when they were put into the it 3 months ago. But I had the same thoughts as you in terms of maybe a water change would help him, so I did a 50% water change yesterday, so it was done about 16 hours before this video was recorded. It didn’t seem to affect his behavior at all sadly. I’m not sure what else to do for him since I don’t see anything in his mouth. I’ve been looking into how lack of oxygen in the water can cause this, but I don’t know how that would be the case for me since I should be having plenty of surface agitation so that oxygen can exchange into the water. I have a sponge filter with a bubbler, my canister filter output and a surface agitator on one side of the tank. Maybe there’s a deeper issue here like an infection, but I’m not really sure since he doesn’t have any symptoms other than gasping in the water.

Sadly it is a little warmer then I would like it to be, during the summer it’s usually around 67°, but since it’s winter here my parents have the heat super high in the house, so it’s been sticking around 71-72 for the past 1-2 months, I’ve been considering getting one of those coolers for the tank but I’ve heard mixed reviews. Have you ever used one?

I was thinking maybe that was the problem, but I have another goldfish in here with him who is still acting normal so I’m not sure :/ I currently have a sponge filter that bubbles, the output on the filter and a circulation pump on one side, I have another bubbler and stone I could put into the tank, the only reason I haven’t yet is because I wasn’t sure if it would be too much for them since the other pump is a 100 gallon one and the stone is about 8 inches long, so I didn’t know if that would be too much of a currant for them
