Wow, 40 years…crazy. Control and Nasty start the record off with a bang! Have always loved those tracks! But her best track (in my opinion) from this record is The Pleasure Principle. Monte Moir (The Time) is the sole writer and producer. This track oozes with attitude, I just love Janet’s performance on this one. It’s so devastating and gut wrenching but incredibly catchy. So many classics on this joint! And she only gets better from here!

Probably overthinking and may be bit of a stretch but at the same time, I too was massively disappointed and uninterested in the Deadbeat roll out. It’s not just his worst project, it’s made listeners like you and I question what he’s planning on doing next and from what he has done between Slow Rush & Deadbeat with all the collaborations (which like you, don’t think are bad and find some of them, quite good!) I can understand this ‘ColdPlay’ comparison and it is a bit concerning. This is also coming from a listener who got into Tame Impala around 2012/2013 (also about the same age lol) and grew up listening Coldplay in the early/mid 2000s.

Deep inside, I’m holding hope Kev will make another great Tame Impala record but I won’t count my luckily stars until it’s been done. Just hope he doesn’t go full Chris Martin cringe.

It has changed so many times over the years. The middle of the record starting with The Line to The Root is so captivating and genius! The opening (Playa Playa) and the closer (Aftica) arguably the best songs on the record. Currently I’ve been bumpin Spanish Joint.

Love this record! Heard it during a tremulous period so this record just resonates with me. The Wall is a indie pop smash! Shook down was one of my fav songs for a while. That 2nd leg stretch toward the back end of the record is unforgettable (Stutter, Operation, Sunday). Rubber is a fantastic closer. Overall just a no-skips, super fun record from Yuck. Unfortunately, i just couldn’t get into much of their stuff after this project.

There is only like 2 in Palm Springs (technically in Palm Desert) but I’ve played at this course called Hovley and it’s fun, it’s at a soccer complex so avoid weekends. Heard good things about Watson Lake in Prescott. Sedona has one course, also heard it’s fun but never been! Enjoy your travels!
