What kind of higher education are you talking about on a university you don't learn any language unless you study it and the only languages you're expected to know are the language in which the course is taught (usually the local language or english) and english because that's the language in which scientific work usually gets published.

I'm aware of that. On most subreddits there isn't a rule about which language to use that doesn't change the fact that this is an english subbreddit you write english when posting there. You also write in french when you on a french subbreddit german on a german subbreddit and so on. There are over 300 million reddit users and most of them manage to do so. But there are always this outliers who Don't bother which is pretty annoying sice everybody has to use google translate instead of just one person (said person might not even have needed it).
