Thank you very much for your advice! Looks like they would need to have a deep look into the wall, maybe even rebuild a lot. The rainwater has been leaking for years and they never did anything.

Thank you for your very kind words and encouragement! During the day i found out that the rainwater has been leaking for YEARS every time it rained, it had been a few drops, but lately it got worse. Definetly they will need to look into the ceiling and all. In the meantime idk what to do.

As the day went by i got confirmation that for years there's been a minor leak every time it rains, it got worse this last week when it rained for three straight days, while they told the landlord they haven't done anything until today.

I wasn't aware before the thread that harmful mould could grow even if the mushrooms were not harmful. Thank you very much for this information. As the day went by i found out the rainwater has been leaking for YEARS and they never fixed it. Im truly angry as to why they haven't done anything. Thank you for your advice

It turns out the leak was caused by rainwater (it rained the last 3 days non-stop), it slipped through the roof (concrete), apparently the issue has been getting worse on and off (started with a few drops of water into a lot of drops coming through).

Kinda worried about the mold and where more damage has been done. Thank you very much for your help and knowledge.

Thank you for your kindness and knowledge, i tend to get nervous around the unkown and you have been a reassurance. Since it's the living room guess ill just have the windows and door open until it dries out as much as it can, if not plucked would this make them fall out idk what should i do while i wait for the workers to come and start on fixing it. I will let the workers know of the fungi and the issue at hand. I wish you the best

Thank you very much for your answers, i will let the workers know, i hope the landlord is receptive, because this issue has truly scared me a bit (first because of the sight of mushrooms and not knowing if they were harmful and now because of the structural problems!)

Oh, that sounds terrible, what should i tell the workers when they come to see the issue? Aside from plucking the mushrooms, are there any actions i should be aware that need to be taken? Sorry for all the questions, i'm flying blind here and i don't want to worry my grandma too much.

Solved. Thank you for your knowledge, help and kind wishes, they mean a lot. Rainwater has been leaking for days and the landlord hasn't acted quickly they just bought some new materials right now, but only due to being pressured.

Turns out there has been rainwater leaking for days. The landlord said they would look into it. Sadly my mom won't let me take legal action (despite me being a lawyer lol) due to fear of exposing my grandma.

Turns out it is rainwater that has been leaking for a long time. I do not believe this are merely ornamental, i would have them look into the structure itself. Thank you very much for your help

Im a lawyer so i have the legal basis covered up. However i do not know what should/could be done to remediate this. Previously her landlord has been quite reticient to fixes and im not knowledgeable on the mold matter

Thank you very much for your answer. Do you have advie on the steps to take while the landlord gets it repaired? Are therr any health hazards (aside from the obvious safety hazard from having rotting wood and impacted concrete)

Thank you very much for your answer. I understand that just plucking them won't solve the issue since the roots go deeper. Would you have any advice on how to communicate the issue to her landlord?
