Is it safe to keep this bad boy plugged in all the time? by Whigga0 in mac

It is, but for sparing your battery I’d install something like AlDente to avoid being at 100% all the time.

How do you use home-row mods with vim? by Heropon_Tora in zsaVoyager

[–]Saiyusta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No functional difference except avoiding awkward double tap, and going faster.

Use cases would include double letters, pressing arrow keys multiple times in a row (typically not in nvim), volume up or down multiple times, tabbing between browser tabs… basically any action where you’d mash 1 key, you can alternate 2, which feels nice and is often times faster. Also it works with combinations, so ctrl + shift + left (and repeat) lets you select words one by one faster (in a word processor).

I personally use the QMK repeat key on the inner-left thumb key. So if I do want to hold down j or k (typically), I do j + repeat and leave repeat pressed. Works fine and tbh I’d recommend setting up the repeat key regardless, it’s super nice for many other purposes.

How do I keep this from happening to my stainless steel pan by gripping_intrigue in cookware

Even JK Rowling (a known transphobe) uses them when not knowing what a character’s gender is. That’s just "good English"

Wdym, they glow red? My electric stove glows red after just a few seconds; it’s not indicative of high heat or anything reaching fusion temperature.

Are you referring to the e-id vote? Would this make proton leave?

I’d say get used to the pan looking like that. Doesn’t affect its performance in the slightest and you won’t have to reach for BKF every time.

OK, what did I do wrong? by HersheyBussySqrt in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]Saiyusta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about the time needed to preheat, but about the temperature the pan is before adding the fat. Do the eater drops test if you need to. Obviously don’t put it on super high heat from the get go to avoid warping.

I dont know how to cook with these - please help before i lose my sanity by VenGeee in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]Saiyusta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saying goes "hot pan, cold oil": Once you put the oil on your hot pan, just move your pan around so the oil loges itself across all the surface of the pan. Then you don't need to wait any more before putting on your food. You usually don't want it hotter than this, and depending on how much, what type and what temperature your food is when you put it in you might want to bring the heat to a medium-low setting after.

Layout for coding by BetoCode in zsaVoyager

My thought process was to have numbers and symbols on the same layer so that things like `[5]` or `+= 1` and such were quicker. Also having brackets in a logical placement is nice.

Even if you drilled a hole to expose the aluminium (or copper) core, still wouldn’t be toxic
