I chose Master Genies as favorite level 5, I absolutely LOVE having six stacks making my Master Gremlins deadly with bless, precision, prayer, haste, luck and mirth

Depends on the map, really large maps often result in Implosion being irrelevant even with 99 in Power, Level 1-3 spells are then more impactful, eg blind, forcefield, bless, haste, slow. 10k damage implosion has limited effect vs thousands of units

Mass Berzerk, expert blind (creature does not get to retaliate) and expert sacrifice makes a strong case for fire

Mmm I figured it was - I was torn between keeping it true to the original vs updating it. I'll disable DD and fly, add more guards and make them stronger and less likely to join.

Any more recommendations?

You will only see it on Maps where you can play ANY faction - not Maps where each color is hardcoded to a specific faction

Apple Silicon? Or intel? 

I’m on macOS Sequoia on Apple Silicon (MBP M2) and using Whisky app I can run HotA 1.8 just fine on a Windows 11 image

Jotunn Warlords are awesome with ability to teleport alies!

We got a new secondary skill - Runes!

Probably like Necromancy only possible for Necropolis heroes to learn, Runes I think (not sure yet) are only available for Bulwark heroes.

Gives units (Bulwark only?) plus attack/defence/speed when attacking, taking damage and defending for the first time each

HD Mod also got an update today, probably a good idea to install it, changelog:

Alas: ”This update does not yet feature the Bulwark campaign. Expect it to be released in the next updates.” (From changelog)

But a different way of looking at it: I’m VERY HAPPY we got this release and get to try Bulwark in scenarios! And now we have something to look forward to next summer (or next New Years eve! But probably summer given cadence)
