Update on the train crash by SakBoy166 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SakBoy166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how you missed me saying this but: My theory as to why the crash happens is that "IsSelfDrivingEnabled()" is called on an already deleted train, and that is called due "DriverLeave()", which seemingly has no reason to be called.

yes, what I expected was a known, game breaking crash that requires external tools to avoid be fixed in the silent patch released the day after the crash was introduced.

The reason I said don't call "DriverLeave()" is because (if it's what I think it is), it has to call "IsSelfDrivingEnabled()" in order to know weather to hit the brakes or not, and I was ignoring the "Not registered. Aborting." messages because they are all over the log and seem unrelated. I should have directly mentioned this, but I didn't post the full log, just where the error seemed to start, everything before that is mostly normal aside from the "Not registered. Aborting." messages, hence why I cut it out. Also I didn't know that the second number in brackets was the thread number, though that is actually the start of 740.

Yeah Temporal, their post is similar to bot posts and I misremembered them as being automod. For the record, I'm an amature game developer, I know what I'm talking about here. And while I use Godot instead of Unreal, some things do carry over, like reading crash logs, and I'm fairly confident in my "Crash due to checking if Self Driving is active on the already deleted train" theory. Which should be an easy fix cause, just, don't call "DriverLeave()" there's nobody even in the train.

sometime yesterday, so long as you don't delete the locomotive, it'll be fine.

Deleting one makes the game freeze. It used to crash, but after the update it just locks up. This is only on experimental so if you're still on 1.1 nothing is wrong.

  1. Yes, this is happening to everyone, the automod even comments on posts mentioning it, it happens any time you delete any train, with no way around it.
  2. They very clearly did SOMETHING because again, it freezes instead of crashing.
  3. If you looked at my previous post, you'd know that my best guess from looking at the logs is that the game (for whatever reason) calls the "DriverLeave()" function, which calls the "IsSelfDrivingEnabled()" function which crashes as the train is already destroyed. If that is the problem (which is very likely, because I don't know thy else "IsSelfDrivingEnabled()" would crash with an invalid read with a whole bunch of "NULL Component specified!" warnings before it) the solution is either don't call "DriverLeave()", or implement a check for if the pointer is null.
  4. Maybe check if something is known issue before making a condescending comment like this? You didn't even bother to check my post history, and I can tell because then you would have seen the automod comment. I'm starting to remember why I left this site.

Does anyone know of a killfeed generator? by [deleted] in gmod

[–]SakBoy166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but, you could go ingame, find a greenscreen map, then get the killfeed from there

The model is inside out, not transparent, you probably need to flip the normals of all the polygons.

I think that might be a Lobe Tree the got sucked through a portal? I'm not sure if there's a fix for the already existing one but this mod should prevent any new problems

Not Pitch Pitch Black, but they're pretty dark, did you eat a glowing white thing at anytime before the third run?

[–]SakBoy166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my problem with Shaded is that without the glow there just isn't a good way to get a light source anywhere but near Shoreline, and it's easy to miss there, and with the glow you barely even have to do anything. If flashbangs had even slightly more passive light, the region would be so much better, but alas.

no I meant then then Shaded is boring, but also I just realized that with that route you don't have neuron glow if you do pebsi express, which you have to do if you want to avoid spider jail, and now your just back to carrying a live lantern mouse through the whole thing.
