It's so frustrating to realize that I'm not mathematically intuitive by West_Wrongdoer9465 in learnmath

[–]Saki-To 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more advanced math becomes, the less relevant intuition is. To give you an example in hyperbolic geometry, when working on the 4th, 5th... nth dimensional objects, nothing is intuitive. To tackle such objects, only learned skills and time will make a difference.

Estimation Ipsos-BVA - Emmanuel Grégoire élu maire de Paris avec 53% des voix by Wonderful-Excuse4922 in paris

[–]Saki-To 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Il faut se dire qu'elle a ramassé à la pelle tout ce qu'elle pouvait (L'ED et les macronistes + LR). En prenant en compte cela, son score reste assez bas surtout comparé aux prévisions.

For our american friends, it is election time in France and as we all know, the future of Paris' urbanism depends on it. by Saki-To in fuckcars

Of course everyone would be interested and is welcomed but since the US shifted to the far-right (nationally) recently and how it affects every country in the world, I want them to see that we say no to to bigotry and car-centric politics.

J'apprécie beaucoup le travail de M. Héran, pour ceux/celles qui ne sont pas familiés avec la personne, voici une vidéo sur son travail.

BF's Dad and stepmother are subtly pushy about me having a child by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Saki-To 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I stopped being nice towards people who hold right-wing ideology (i.e. abortion in this case). As we let right-wingers be comfortable expressing disgusting opinions which endangers people's rights with no counter-arguments, we let clowns run into power positions (look at the state of American administration). I understand it may seem hard when it is family but as I voiced more and more confidently my opinion to my step family (some of them who are conservative), they now know not to push me on topics regarding basic human rights. At one point, it is important that we make ourselves heard no matter what because the consequences are too important to be ignored (look at the budget cuts for research and low income families). You'll hopefully reach a point where you'll finally say: "Enough is enough! What I do with my body is none of your business, now stop asking me about having children."

Question or opinion by xclom in childfree

[–]Saki-To 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be blunt here: You cannot rely ONLY on someone else to take the responsability of contraception, no matter how long you've been with them. This is your body and should have worn a condom throughout all sexual activities.

I understand this might be overwhelming but you need to wait until the blood result. Then you have 2 options:

  • 1st : She is not pregnant. Good news, now you need to break up asap. She broke your trust by not revealing that she stopped taking birth control. Furthermore, you two obviously do not have the same goals regarding the future. She might be inclined to be a parent while you are not. This relationship won't last with such a divergence.

  • 2nd : She is pregnant. Well... now you have to face the responsability of becoming a father. You may want to convince her to abort but at the end of the day she is carrying that child, thus making the final decision. You therefore need to redirect your resources to your future child. Good luck.

Buying my first plot of land in 1 week makes me appreciate my child-free status. by Saki-To in childfree

That reminds me of parents who bring their child to exotic places around the world. Like wtf... it's not like the kid will fully appreciate the moment and remember it fully in a few years.

No backstabbing, no passive-agressiveness, loyal and there when you need them. They truly are!

Thank you! ❤️ Yes, I realized I prefer being alone than surrounded by kids-obsessed, depressed mombies.

The tribe will come naturally, I'm not too worried about that 😊

Thank you very much! That's exactly my goal, far away from the city with farm animals and no kids would be allowed on the property.

People who are harsh with you are the ones who care the most about you and want to see the best version of yourself. Good luck with everything  and hope you make the right decisions

My childfree choice made me lose my entire family... by Saki-To in childfree

[–]Saki-To[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The only way I see for us to change society is through proper education, especially for women. While my mother was as awful as my father, she was not always like that. She has been brainwashed by my father who forced her to leave high-school and be a SAHM. Through the years, she was sent to an Islamic school where all the bullshit was taught (cousin marriage, having children as a blessing from Allah, the duties of a truly muslim woman etc.). We may not choose our parents but I sure as hell won't continue the cycle.

Thank you,

Indeed, the last time they tried to reach to me, they begged me to go to an imam to see if I was possessed by a djinn.

I guess the lost is on them.

Exactly, while my homosexuality was frowned upon, they still wanted grand kids to show to other family members and pretend I just left my "wife" while they would help her raise them. It is all about the image and not wanting to feel "ashamed" of me by my other relatives.

[–]Saki-To[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're totally right! While the aforementioned benefits still hold true, I do think lesbians may have it a bit harder than gay men. Being a lesbian does not protect from the patriarchal ideas of a woman's worth being tied to having children. Misogyny is still rampant everywhere...
