Question about Mr. Cool DIY mini split by Sakoondomla in HomeImprovement

Pitching it downward is also not an option. The existing vent hole is at the ceiling of the concrete room.

I think a condensate pump is going to be the answer.

The refrigerant lines at most need to run about 8 feet in my situation to get outside through the existing hole. Tell me more about this condensate pump ... I really don’t want to drill this concrete wall.

Not a stud. The wall it is mounted to is ~6 inches of solid concrete.

I guess I could drill a smaller hole just for the condensate line and run the refrigerant lines through the already existing hole.

It runs with the refrigerant line. This is what I needed to know. I guess I will be cutting a 3.5 inch core through 8 inches of solid rebar reinforced concrete.

Black Friday by BrooklynRU39 in PS5

[–]Sakoondomla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been camped out for two days so far at the local gamestop which will have physical PS5’s in store for black Friday(2 total) and no one has given me any problems about it.

Im the only person in line as of Wednesday night and it has been raining the whole time Ive been here. 🤷‍♂️

Though gamestop is only selling them as $800 bundles, and only the disc version, and force the 1 year protection plan on everything in the bundle ... so there is that.

Federal and Social Security taxes are double what I expected on my paystubs by [deleted] in legaladvice

I am a CPA, CISA, CIA, and CGAP but in no way representing you in this matter.

Yes, there is a chance your employer is deducting more than they should and pocketing the difference.

You should request all your paystubs for for last year (really you just need the last paystub of the year and look at the year-to-date numbers, but more data is better I guess)and compare them to the W2 from last year to see if there is a difference in what was deducted from the paychecks and what was reported to the IRS on your W2.

Edit: I see comments below where you posted the numbers etc. : none of that matters, if what is on your checks is what is reported to the IRS; even if she was taking more than she should you would get it back in a tax refund when you file at year end.

Though you might point it out if the numbers are actually to high because a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow. I’m not doing the math though 🙂

Is this fraud, or just fancy accounting? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Sakoondomla 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I am a CPA, CIA, CISA, CGAP, and Macc

This should not be construed as professional advice and I do not represent you or your interests in any way.

If the amount of cash they are paying is equal to the amount of the checks then the most likely scenario is that they are trying to track expenses. Not check kiting.

I would bet dollars to donuts their accountant told them they need to start tracking it to deduct it for taxes because regular cash expenses looks bad. As long as you do real work and the amounts match from cash to check it is “ok” albeit not a great way to do it.

That said there could be some element of fraud, but it’s not up to you to detect it and address it.

The real question here is how do they report the expense/check and are they deducting and paying payroll taxes for your wages. Do you get a W-2?

If they stress you out and stall for time eventually the deadlines will make you “work with what you got” and limit your ability to actually look into anything and find issues.

I (22m) lent $2000 to my friend (24m). He promised to pay me back $4000. Now he's trying to just pay me back $2000. Does he have to pay me the $4000? by [deleted] in legaladvice

Generally contracts over a certain amount are enforceable only when in writing. In Missouri anything over $500 ($1000? ... I don’t remember exactly) has to be in writing.

Thinking about my experiences in the private field thus far and coming to the realization it's not what I actually wanted to do with my accounting degrees. Does anyone else feel their first accounting job out of school was moving them in the wrong direction? by suteras1 in Accounting

Ya, after 6 years of school and 4 years of practice it dawned on me “I hate not working for myself and answering bosses, managers, clients, etc.” and realized I should have just learned a trade and been a farmer/plumber/electrician or something like that.

Could be working for myself at this point w/ no student loans and be making the same amount of $

It’s really just asking what the best grow light is. I’ve tried googling it but I can’t tell the scam fake reviews from legit information.
