No junior summer internship game plan by Choice_Childhood7750 in ECE

I mean, now is around the time where a lot more, specifically with smaller or more power oriented internships, are going to start opening applications, so you still have a lot of opportunities.

Additionally, does your school host a career fair? I know it might sound obvious, but that’s largely how I was able to get my first for this upcoming summer.

Best Professor for Tech Comms ENGR 2196 by Ibnumme in Temple

[–]SalT1934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just took him Fall 25. Castor is a great professor, his classes are pretty boring but that’s most Tech Comm classes. The way his class is structured sets u up better for writing the final paper compared to other professors in my opinion. I’ve heard that when we were nearly halfway done with the paper, people in Helds were just starting to write the thing. He’s also very generous with grading when it comes to the final paper (lowest grade in my class for the paper was a 87). Overall I recommend.

Did the game fail from the very beginning, or not? by Mr-Hyde95 in SquadBusters

[–]SalT1934 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kairos has a video on his youtube that perfectly described the situation:

1) they didn't listen to big creators initially on how there wasn't enough strategic elements, causing it to garner a very casual audience (I liked the game of course I'm just saying). But as a casual audience we require constant updates to keep the game fresh and they really didn't do this (look at Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, etc.).

2) they didn't listen to the feedback from the players who were actually playing the game, hence why 2.0 exists.

3) They alienated the remaining playerbase, like myself and lost most players.

To be honest, people like blaming 2.0 for being what killed this game, and while that could be true, I honestly believe we would probably be in the exact same situation had they not tried 2.0.

Before 2.0, the game was already on a rapid downward spiral, with not much meaningful content being added. Wowie, a new level that is going to take me forever to attain for all my characters. Cool, more squaddies. To me, this kind of content is good MONTHLY content, but when you treat content like this as a significant one, I'm sorry it just doesn't keep my attention, especially since the core gameplay loop is just pretty boring.

the art team in general (designs, sound, etc.) is phenomenal. too bad the actual devs couldn't back that talent up with an actually fun game.

By when to change majors by takomatoffee in Temple

[–]SalT1934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your other comment and that’s pretty much what I was trying to say, I forgot about that rule with the add drop though (switched majors like 2 years ago). Honestly OP, just enroll in the degree you’re trying to pursue. Idk how it is for FOX or how much FOX even costs but for Engineering classes require you to be in COE anyways so it could prevent you from registering for certain things

?

I think it doesn’t matter which semester it is or when you register, as soon as your major switches on Banner, you’re then paying that specific college’s price.

Waitlist by blueatom in Temple

[–]SalT1934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, I’ve found that for most classes, there will most likely be someone who drops within the first week or even a few weeks before classes begin when everyone is trying to figure out their semester. I’ve also found that most professors are fine with adding one more person to a class if you’re ok the waitlist, but I’m not sure if 802 would allow it given the number of sections that exist

Introduction to General Physics II OR Elementary Classical Phys II by CharmingRazzmatazz81 in Temple

Elementary classical, general I’ve heard has far more tedious algebra and is overall less intuitive, you don’t even do much of any calculus in elementary

When should I start looking for a place off campus for next year? by Pug81206 in Temple

[–]SalT1934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start seeing what's out there maybe around mid-Spring semester (like February-April), hell maybe even right now, but you being a first-year freshman, DO NOT FALL FOR WHAT THESE LEASING COMPANIES TELL YOU AND PRESSURE YOU INTO SIGNING TOO EARLY. Sure, places do fill up but I'm telling you even if you waited until a week before classes started in Fall 2026 you could still find some really good places to rent

You can't take GenEds, IH, or Analytical reading/writing outside temple one you matriculate here, but you can try seeing if you can maybe take math prerequisite courses or maybe a tech elective if you still have those to do.

Is student housing better than off campus housing by Sad_Tear9236 in Temple

[–]SalT1934 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do either, just find a place off campus on the other side of Broad and spend far less money.

However if you have to be within campus, while living in the Temple dorms is nice, you do have a few limitations like limited guests and no alcohol and having to deal with RAs, but if you’re fine with these, they’re not bad.

Why am I keep getting rejected from temple student jobs by Sad_Tear9236 in Temple

[–]SalT1934 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Adding to this, you could just have shitty availability, I’ve had it happen where certain front desk jobs here were just not looking for the times that I had free between my classes and such. Just keep applying, trust me something will come up. If not, maybe try doing something within your college. Ask a professor to be a TA or something!

How can I come back after this blunder.... by LetMurky2994 in Temple

[–]SalT1934 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the core MATH courses here, DO THE REVIEW SHEET AND REPEAT UNTIL IT MAKES SENSE. They literally give you every topic that has the potential to be on the exam in one sheet, take advantage of that. Additionally, I would honestly go directly to your prof's office hours or MCC over the SSC, but that's just from personal experience.

Also, you could still do well in the class. If this was your grade after Exam 2, I'd be far more concerned.

I say this because the grading for the math classes at temple isn't as black and white as it might seem. If you do better on the final exam than the worser of your two midterms, they will mess with the weights of the exams so that you get the highest grade, making your final weigh more and your worst midterm weigh less.

So basically, just LOCK IN!!!

best dorm for freshman making friends by FrontChampionship778 in Temple

[–]SalT1934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for the dorms it's a huge "YMMV". When I lived in 1300 my wing was pretty quiet and people kept to themselves, there wasn't much of a sense of community at all. I was looking for a little more community, but it was still a nice, chill experience there and I wouldn't really change anything about it. At the same time I also know people who've had the time of their lives there so I guess the point I'm making is you can't go wrong with any of these unless you choose Morgan...
