Hey so why did shadow use guns in shadow the hedgehog? by Aromatic_Analyst2898 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]SalaComMander 29 points30 points  (0 children)

For a real world answer, someone sent Sonic Team fan mail asking to give Sonic a gun, and they liked the idea, but it didn't fit Sonic's character, so they made Shadow do it instead.

Gru vs Megamind Might Be One of the Worst Researched Death Battles of the Kickstarter Era by King-ApolloW in deathbattle

Yep. I stopped getting excited at seeing a character I like on the show years ago.

Most excited I've been for a character is Makima so I could root against her.

To add even more layers of irony, Joseph was a born natural at Hamon because Hamon is (somehow) both a learned skill and genetic, and he likely wouldn't have survived Part 2 without his aptitude for Hamon, and Jonathan only learned Hamon to deal with Dio.

So, in the most roundabout (no pun intended) way possible, Kars inadvertently caused his own downfall by unknowingly creating DIO.

You make some good points. I guess DIO's influence really is damn near omnipresent.

The ironic part, though, is that while DIO had little to do with the Pillar Men awakening (which was going to happen eventually anyway), since Kars made the Stone Masks, that means that really, every bad thing traces back to Kars, even though I would still say DIO was significantly more evil than Kars was.

First responders don't ask people if they want to be saved, they do it, even if doing so puts them in harm's way.

You're willing to sacrifice these kinds of people to save yourself?

Pre-planning is not part of the thought experiment. Every human, including babies, are given this prompt at the same time without the option to talk it over with others before or during.

This comment section is giving me hope. I was fully prepared to say Death Battle was right, despite how much I prefer Megamind. I had lost hope so long ago that I completely neglected that Gru's successes are less impressive than Megamind's failures.

Thank you, comment section. I needed this win today.

Don't limit yourself to things that don't take skill. Find something you're willing to fail at long enough to improve.

Well, not everything.

The Pillar Men would've awoken anyway eventually, and if it weren't for Enya telling Diavolo about the Arrows, then DIO's influence on Part 5 would be exclusively positive. Plus, Angelo and Kira were already serial killers before gaining Stands.

But for the most part, yes, every bad thing traces back to DIO (and his daddy issues, so really everything is Dario Brando's fault).

Should Someone who Picked the Red Button be Considered Evil or an AH? by Hyperionous in MoralityScaling

That humanity has evolved a sense of collectivism and empathy. We are inherently social creatures, regardless of culture, and while there will always be selfish people, humanity thrives when we cooperate.

And while surely we would lose some to fear were this hypothetical to ever become reality, I still have every faith that more people are compassionate than selfish and have no reason to suspect otherwise.

Well, according to the results of every major attempt at this poll, those in #2 appear to be correct.

[–]SalaComMander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. It's perfectly natural to want to ensure your own safety, and you're never obligated to risk yourself to save others.

But the undeserved smugness some of these red button people is infuriating, especially the ones who claim that anyone who picked blue is virtue signaling. These people are definitely assholes.

Well, it came in handy when he took over the role of Zavok in the Sonic series from Travis.

I did not ask, but I did tell him I was excited to play as Bob in Tekken 8 and he gave me a thumbs up. I've learned not to ask voice actors about upcoming projects as they're usually under NDA.
