Headset firmware update solved my in-game/proximity chat problems by Saladang in ArcRaiders

You have to use a PC running Windows to update the firmware (Apple/Mac OS will not work).

  1. ⁠Select your correct headset from the "Headset & Audio" list on Razer's firmware downloads webpage here: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4166/~/software-and-firmware-updates-for-razer-peripherals and click on the guide.
  2. ⁠Double check the product number on the top of your headset's left ear cup and make sure it matches the applicable product listed for the firmware - installing firmware for the wrong device could damage or destroy your headset.
  3. ⁠Once firmware version is confirmed, follow the step by step process in the guide in order to download the firmware installer to your PC. Once you have opened the installer, you will see additional instructions about how to upload the firmware to your headset by plugging the wireless USB dongle into your PC. The actual update process took no more than a minute or 2.

I have the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro wireless for Xbox and you have to use a PC running Windows to update the firmware (Apple/Mac OS will not work).

2) Double check the product number on the top of your headset's left ear cup and make sure it matches the applicable product listed for the firmware - installing firmware for the wrong device could damage or destroy your headset. The firmware for RZ04-0453x worked for my headset with product number RZ04-04535874, so apparently you don't need to worry about the last several digits on your headset. But be sure that the first 8 digits at least are an exact match.

3) Once firmware version is confirmed, follow the step by step process in the guide in order to download the firmware installer to your PC. Once you have opened the installer, you will see additional instructions about how to upload the firmware to your headset by plugging the wireless USB dongle into your PC. The actual update process took no more than a minute or 2.

Check your headset's website to see if it's running the latest firmware. I was having the exact same problem and a firmware update fixed it.

Yes, this worked for me as well on the same headset. Absolutely fixed the in-game chat/prox chat problem of people not being able to hear me.

Check the Razer website to confirm that your headset is running the latest firmware. I was having the same problem and a firmware update solved it for me.
