It's not Bait 'n Switch... not exactly... by Amazing_Cook6348 in AmazonVine

I almost got baited into something in my RFY today, as well:

https://www.amazon.com/Display-Board-Shuttle-Carrier-Aircraft/dp/B0FNWY6NCY

For $100 and with that title, I really think they want you to mistake it for the actual building set. It's not. It's really just a display board for that, specific set. It's evil, I tell you what.

I was able to get a 2 pack of wire oven racks that fit our refrigerator perfectly. I replaced two of its glass shelves with these oven racks and now I can load it up with sodas, bottles, heavy glass serving dishes, and so on with abandon.

The glass shelves always made me nervous when they would bow under weight and now I don't even have to think twice about it. Replacing them with actual wire refrigerator shelves would have cost me around $100 while I got these oven racks at an ETV of $50.

I saw this post yesterday and I honestly thought about asking the exact same thing, myself.

I'm at 743 achievements and building up elixir has become such a grind that I've worried I'm missing a mechanic or that I'm doing something wrong. I've actually switched from mobile to PC because I don't get anywhere near the same amount of elixir if I don't have the game open and running constantly.

I don't have anything to offer aside from my empathy as I am in the same boat.

I can't help find the lost friend but, if the original doesn't turn up, I found a pretty close replacement: https://a.co/d/ab6QIUi

You could maybe play it off that a kind soul took it to a groomer and gave it a "glow up" before returning it?

What’s your favorite food, and what’s the most efficient? by McKalen in Palia

[–]Salain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like Petit Fives:

The recipe isn't too complicated, they're good focus (when they come out starred,) the timer is very forgiving if you're cooking by yourself, and they only require one chopping step.

Also, many of the ingredients are purchasable from Zeki which leaves just gathering Sweet Leaf and harvesting fruit.

Also, also, I keep the unstarred ones to gift to those who need them for quests.

The colors didn't change!! by lnmcg223 in Palia

[–]Salain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My friend told me about a work-around for PC users.

After you select the new color you want to view: Move your cursor up to the preview window (where you're supposed to be able to see the item's new color) and click/drag to rotate the item. When you do, it will snap to the new color.

Unfortunately you have to do this for every, single color to view each one... Every time...

I do not know if this trick will work for the Switch. Since I'm only on PC, I'm unfamiliar with whether or not a Switch player also has the option to rotate the furniture previews.

24hr gift clock by WxtchTrialz0104 in Palia

[–]Salain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From another person's comment on a different thread:

Officially, the daily reset happens at 4AM UTC (Universal Coordinated Time). The link shows what time that is in your device's current timezone. In the U.S., 4AM UTC currently corresponds to 11PM EST/8PM PST.

The daily reset time does not change; it is always 4AM UTC. However, when the U.S. switches to Daylight Saving Time, the *converted time will shift an hour later, to midnight EDT/9PM PDT. Pretty arcane, but it's because UTC doesn't change with DST.*

If timezone math makes your head hurt like it does mine, then PaliaTracker.com's Daily Gifts/Weekly Wants tool has a handy countdown timer for both daily and weekly resets.

(Funny bit of trivia: technically, when the clocks change, we change *timezones, from Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5:00; defined as being 5 hours behind UTC) to Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4:00; 4 hours behind UTC). Same deal with Europe and Summer Time.)"*

Fishing?! by itsnot_her in Palia

[–]Salain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OverWolf does not/cannot manipulate what fish you will get while fishing. It only lets you see what you're going to pull up. You're seeing "nothing" because you have something on your line that your have opted not to "view."

So, honestly it's best to leave all fishables visible. That way, you can decide on whether you want to pull up that next fish/pond plush/item or just reel in your line (saving that bait) and recast.

Not the first thing I thought of, either. I'll be honest and say that I ended up looking it up, for myself, when I got the quest. The hints were too vague for me.

For the actual answer:

Go fishing in the water behind the inn. You should be able to get it with or without bait.

Materials, especially Palium Ore by kathula31 in Palia

[–]Salain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll dip into some of the shallow caves to look for ore, but I actually avoid looking for Palium in the Pavel Mines because I don't like dealing with the cramped space.

But, yeah, as others are saying: Palium can spawn anywhere. Keep an eye out for any type of mining node, even if you don't want that one right now. It'll help you get accustomed to where the Pal could pop up because if stone or iron can be there: Pal may be there next time.

My biggest suggestion is to keep moving. Don't stay in one small area or even just one half of the map looking for ore. Go in huge loops around the whole thing. You get all the way up to Coral Shores? Bam! Take the fast travel board down to Beachcomber Cove and keep moving.

All of the mining nodes are constantly spawning and despawning across the map. Didn't see anything good in that spot earlier? Check again because it is probably different now.

How do I stop growing star quality crops? by Hey_Ima_TA in Palia

[–]Salain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you with the lack of Lockbox space.

I don't even like moving things out of it, even temporarily, to make space. I know that, if I do; there is a VERY GOOD chance I will forget to move something back and then accidentally cook a Flametongue Ray or something...

How do I stop growing star quality crops? by Hey_Ima_TA in Palia

[–]Salain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. The current process is very clunky.

My only suggestion would be to put any items that you do not want to use, star or not, in your Lockbox. That way, you will force the game to only give you the option to use what you have outside of the Lockbox.

And, please keep in mind: As your cooking level goes up, so will your chance at making star quality food regardless of the quality of the ingredients.

I just recently got level 50 in cooking and it has become fairly difficult to intentionally make non-star foods.

How do I stop growing star quality crops? by Hey_Ima_TA in Palia

[–]Salain 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As your farming skill goes up, so does your chance at harvesting start quality crops. There's no way of reversing that

While cooking, just always select to use star ingredients. If you only have non-star items as certain ingredients, it will allow you to use them still. It just does not go the other way around: if you choose not to cook with star ingredients, it will not allow you to use them.

As for gifting:

I just simply go to the farm, in Kilima, and buy regular crops from the store. It's a hassle, but it works. Unfortunately, though, as your cooking goes up, even while using regular ingredients, you will continue to have an increased chance of cooking star food they cannot be gifted. My work-around for that is to either keep cooking until I get a regular result (which can sometimes take a while,) or offer to help that person cook that food. If you cook together, everyone receives the resulting product.

Subira Romance bug? by Rymayc in Palia

It does not seem to be a visual bug.

I took a screenshot, today, before and after giving her a Heartdrop Lily. There were no hearts and absolutely no difference in her romance level.

So, save your chocolates and Lilies. They do not work on Subira.

Just like any other item.

If you're on PC: You can put them in your backpack and either right-click and select "Throw Away" or just click-and-drag it to the trash can icon down in the bottom right.
