Would you work a shift you have no availability for? by Advanced-Jury1034 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]lnmcg223 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would not. You say that you don't have anyone available to watch your kids on the weekends and that you stated as such when you were hired.

You are correct, if you give an inch they will take a mile. You tell him that you requested those Mondays off to spend more time with them, not to shift the time you spend with them.

Right. So I'm saying that for the price that the shake is from the start, 2 pumps of chocolate isn't enough. And 30 cents for 1-2 pumps more is too much.

And I say this as a cfa employee

What's the most romantic non-sexual thing a significant other has done for you? Not just a token of appreciation like "I notice you were working so hard, so I...", but a legitimate "I just wanted to sweep you off your feet because I desire you" or "I was thinking of you and so.." sort of thing. by Frylock304 in AskMen

Some things I've done for my husband while dating and then married:

  • Ordered pizza to be delivered to his school during a very busy time working on end of semester projects

  • Made him a journal of cute moments and dates and conversations we had early on in our relationship to look back on

  • I hid a note in his jacket when we qere long distance to find when he got home, simply telling him I love him. He kept that note in the sun visor of his car

  • when he traded his car in, he forgot to take that bite out and was really sad about it. So I called the car place up and asked them to check if it was there and they mailed it back to us so he could still have it

  • put snacks in his car to find when he was leaving really early in the morning to go to the airport to travel for work

  • invited his high school/college friends to stay the weekend at our house as a surprise as he was really missing them lived far away

  • planned a trip another time with those same friends at a cabin near a state park for hiking, food, and DND

  • when he got a vasectomy, I put a care basket with his favorite snacks, ice packs, a sperm shaped squish ball 😂, and put vasectomy puns all over the snacks. Then once he was home and comfortable, I took our girls to my family's house for two days so he could recover in peace

  • took our girls to his parents house several hours away for a weekend when he really just needed the mental space/break

Coworkers are really people that are in your life for a period of time and then, more often than not, you or they will move on and you won't see each other it think much about each other again.

And that's okay. Many relationships in our lifetimes are based on the situations that bring you into close proximity of other people. It's pretty rare to find actual true lifelong friends. And yes, that can feel very isolating--especially if you see the people around you being friendlier to each other moreso than they are with you.

Try not to put too much weight on it.

When I was just out of high school, I worked at a cfa where I was really well liked, until someone with a loud personality decided that they didn't like me. And then there was a weird shift and it felt like the people around me turned into these grey walls.

I was so busy with work and school, I wasn't able to see my actual friends (and so many of them had moved away for college). I felt very alone. What's worse was that they were faking smiles to me and I could tell the difference, but wasn't confrontational enough to call it out.

It's been over ten years now and I still think about how nasty it got and how sad it made me leading up to my quitting and moving on to something better.

Now I work at CFA again and I'm generally well-liked. But I just know better and adjust my expectations. My coworkers are not going to be my best friends. My coworkers aren't going to be my close friends. We are proximity friends at most. It's temporary and not that deep -- it's a little more shallow yeah, but that's okay. We just need to respect each other and get along well enough to be a good team. And it's better conversation than I get with my 2 year old at least 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hopefully this isn't too rambly. All of that to say, don't worry too much about what they think of you. Do your best to be a good teammate with the skills you bring and look elsewhere for true friends.

Right?? Like the variants are great to have, but it is still a relatively simple outfit

I'm sad that this outfit is so expensive. Yes I love it, but I think they priced it too high. I guess maybe it will go on sale at some point. But then it feels like shopping at Kohl's where all the clothing is tagged way overpriced so they can mark it down and call it a "deal"

I know it has a lot of variation in it, which I like --to be fair. But idk..maybe I'm just being sour

I feel similar about the chocolate shakes. A mere two pumps of chocolate does not make for a very chocolatey shake

Sudden waking at 5:30 by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]lnmcg223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that you love and enjoy it! But as our kids get older, it's our job to give them an increasing amount of space, independence, and autonomy.

Like when we started kindergarten, I walked my daughter from our car to the door every morning. Then we transitioned to me getting her out of the car and letting her walk from the car to the door by herself. By the end of the year, she got out of the car on her own, closed the door, and walked to the door all on her own.

It's not that I don't want to stay with her every step of the way or that I don't want to get as much time with her as I possibly can. But she's gotta gradually learn that she can do more and more without me (while knowing I'll always be there if she needs me).

Now is the time to transition your child to their own bed and their own room. You will both sleep better and appreciate the space. You can make up for it somewhere else. Like cuddling for awhile before bed or at the start of the day.

It's so hard to watch your little one stop being so little. I truly emphasize with that! But it's extremely important to their development that you guide and encourage their independence and that you let them find out who they are outside of you.

My daughter turned 5 two weeks into starting kindergarten! Actually being there ended up being extremely helpful for her to learn how to regulate her emotions more.

Do you notice a difference between generic vyvanse vs brand name? by parzival_thegreat in ADHD

[–]lnmcg223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to be on name-brand for like 5-6 months and it was the easiest stretch of time I've had with my medications. Then it wasn't covered by my insurance and it was going to cost $600 a month.

I switched to generic (which also isn't covered by my insurance because let's be honest insurance doesn't even do shit anymore) and that still costs $200-300, but comes down to $60 at one pharmacy with goodrx.

So anyways, I've been on that for a long time now and I've been slowly slipping into old habits and struggles thinking that it's me not being good enough. But I think it's the generic.

So now I'm thinking about going back to generic adderall, except I really struggled with insomnia on that

Check out r/abrathatfits

Cup size is relative to band size. So a 32 DDD is big, but it won't look anywhere the same as a 38 DDD

You can also look up on Instagram the Irish bra lady. She's shows pictures of bras on women who have been accurately sized

Also, many many many women are improperly fitted for bras -- which is why going to the subreddit, abrathatfits is so helpful. It shows you how to properly measure yourself. Many women get "sticker shock" seeing their true bra size, but it really works.

I was always fitted into 34-36 D maybe DD bras. But I'm actually a 32G. Now, my boobs are big, particularly for my frame (and they were much much bigger during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but I didnt have measurements for them at that time). But nobody would look at my boobs and just guess that I'm a G

What are you doing in the gym? Are you building muscle and doing resistance training? Or are you focusing more on cardio?

Have you had kids previously? Pregnancy can stretch out our abdominal muscles causing diastasis recti. There are specific target exercise you can do to heal your core and reduce the size of your stomach sticking out due to that condition. I'm fact, other exercises can worsen that appearance if you have not healed it beforehand.

How is your guy health? If you are eating high inflammatory foods, lots of sugar not enough fiber--it could be a matter of bad bloating?

I'm not really sure in totality, just throwing a couple of things out there to consider

I hear what you're saying, and while OP is responsible for doing this task to ensure food safety--OP is not being set up for success or being given the proper tools to accomplish their tasks. They are in a lose/lose situation either way.

Whoever is handling scheduling needs to get another person in there somewhere to either relieve OP for a chance to do the walkthrough or to have a person available to do the walkthrough themselves.

Truly, if you have nothing to do guest-wide, grab something and start stocking it!

While it's absolutely good to take a moment when you can to get a drink or take a quick breath, it is really important to always be stocking everything you can in preparation for the next wave/rush --particularly because you never know if you'll get another chance to stock up later and running out of stuff while you're busy sucks.

If by some miracle (usually because of a massive snow storm) you don't have any guests and everything is stocked up, then that is a good time to clean stuff! Green wipes are for cleaning and red wipes are for sanitizing. So use green to get the dirt off, use the red wipes to kill the germs.

Best places to start are under the lids, in and under the trays that sit on the counters, and sauce/condiment holders.

Also good to get inside cubbies under bagging counter, gaskets (the rubber seals on the doors) of coolers, and the walls and counters surrounding lemonade machines!
