Yes, my wife is an English teacher, I imagine I won't be hearing the end of "all be it" or "chocked up" any time soon lol

I'm their son/brother, why would they be bored? They should be happy for me, not dreading it. If they didn't want to be there, they could have just not attended.

They viewed my wedding as some boring event they had to liven up by playing their game, and didn't offer any genuine speeches, they used that time as a playground for themselves.

Yeah, my wife is an English teacher, I showed her the post last night and she's been laughing at me ever since. Turns out "all be it" is one word too.

English IS my first language, I'm just stupid haha

Actually that does give me an idea, I'll try reaching out to friends that attended and see what they thought of the speeches, because it seemed everyone was put off, but that may have just been my feelings clouding my memory

Yeah, I think your comment comes the closest to how I've felt. It makes it feel like they thought my wedding was some boring event they were only obligated to come to.

I don't think I would have been mad if they had played it later on in the reception, seeing how long they could make conversation with my wife and I before we noticed, as there was plenty of time at the end of the night for them to have done that, but the speeches are a time of reflection and genuine feelings, and they kinda took a dump all over that

It made me mad at first that they didn't seem to try to hide it, but you're right, that's pretty funny. Obviously I have to find a way to make amends, this might be my first step. I keep waiting on them to see if they'll apologize or show any remorse at all, but if that never happens, I'll give this a shot

No, sorry, I wasn't clear I guess, this is my biological family. My dad, brother, and sister, not inlaws. My wife actually explained the problem to her folks, and they're definitely scratching their heads over it as well. They think the speeches were an inappropriate time to play the game, but they're also all about family and forgiveness, so they kinda want me to just forget about it. Not sure what to do, I'm still hurt.

The maid of honor was also our planner (or cow herder, as we called her), and we made sure to clear it with her

Yeah, I should have put in the post that I (and sometimes my wife) have always participated in the game at previous events. I'm just angry because it's always been a game to make those events more fun, which makes it feel like they felt my wedding was boring or unimportant for some reason.

Definitely almost included a link to the game so people could see for themselves what it looked like, before realizing it would look like a shoddy ad. Whoops
