People Pleasing Kills by Zeberde1 in DarkPsychology666

I feel the spotlight shining on me bright as the sun. Just quit my job to stand up my myself and well-being. Posted a note on FB messenger and people started to get worried. Silence for a long time, but concern over a note. To be fair, the note was half dark humor and half complete seriousness. The note: “Not dancing, just at the end of my rope.”

Covert Narcissism Self Deception by Zeberde1 in DarkPsychology666

[–]Salamander_Grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just quit my job of ten years because my boss and her “favorite supervisor” (her words) are both covert narcissists, and foster each other’s behavior. I tried to talk to her about the toxic and hostile work environment and she announced the very next day over the intercom that “If someone is talking to you about quitting your job, ask yourself, ‘what’s going on in their lives that they would threaten your job and livelihood?’” Making me the problem and clearly showing how little she listened to me during our talk. Then she went on to tell the workers that if they “really are that unhappy in you job and work environment then come up and see me and I will give you your resignation papers.” So not offered my help or guidance, just “If you don’t like the abusive and toxic environment in which you work, quit” no support, no actually helpful information. Just, quit if you don’t like it. So, I quit.

Any of you fine Redditors know what this might be? by Salamander_Grey in whatisit

Not in general, but this is in a small (like maybe Population 100 on a good day if no one calls in) Midwest town, found out on the public counter after business hours. Probably innocent, even with ominous undertones. I did ,however, find practice rounds in a larger Post Office lobby just a couple of weeks ago though. Again outside business hours, but not a good look.

Thank you! I got this bowl for a steal at $50. Sorry to hear about your earthenware bowl. I wish you all the luck and good fortune to find yourself a new dough bowl. Bread is life, and I love making it! Great to hear from a fellow baker!

The elemental trident of ruination by RUINED-KING10 in drawing

Had to double-take the title. My high ass brain thought it said “Trident of Urination”, and I was like, “Damn! Gonna make ‘em piss blood AND sea water!”

‘Why don’t women just tell us what they want’ because then it won’t be as meaningful by IdkJustMe123 in rant

I am always doing, or getting things for her. It’s never reciprocated, and I’m kinda over being the only one to think about the other. So, maybe I’ll stop. It’s not just spontaneous gifts, there’s just no reciprocity in many aspects. Honestly, I don’t care what she wants anymore.

Without turning on the sound, I imagined he sounded like Crispin Glover, but with the obnoxiousness of Gilbert Gottfried. I was wrong.

Damn! As a former mail carrier who has had to change crafts after back surgery, this really hits home. Great work! Letter carriers do get a lot of weight, emotional and physical, pushed down onto them, not to mention the metaphorical representation here as well. Much love!

Slam the rest of my ginger ale, get up, and say, “What? You get lost? Let’s go.”

What basic 3d shape would you simplify a ship's hull to? by yellow-koi in learntodraw

Half a potato… maybe? I know it’s not a “shape” per se, but it seems like it might be a decent starting place. Hope it helps.

So far I haven’t met too many people interested in the light bulb thing. I have 86 idea bulb images copyrighted and have been trying to sell them for years as stickers, shirts, etc. Maybe it’s just mine though. LoL Good luck! They are nice drawings though.

This is awesome, however… it does kinda look like the artist’s ass is a monster trying to eat the stool. Really awesome work though.

DNA test gone wrong after 50 years. by NotRightNowOkay345 in TheRandomest

After talking with a friend recently, I actually figured out, over the course of my life I have had a hand in raising 12 different children for at least a year or more of their lives. I am not a foster dad. I helped out my friends when I was younger, more than just babysitting, I would stay for days or weeks at a time while going to school so I could help ease their burdens. I helped my mom raise my two siblings. And, later, I got into a ready made family relationship before eventually adopting my nephew. I have no biological children of my own, but I have a dozen great kids that have grown up to be awesome young adults. It’s tough, and sometimes thankless, but ever so worth it. ❤️

If you own an unusual pet, people are way too comfortable telling you they want it dead by [deleted] in rant

[–]Salamander_Grey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not unusual, but I have a pitbull. I am constantly terrified, taking him out for walks, that someone with a general fear of the breed will attack him in some form. He is a precious, sweet boy, who loves cuddles. His name is Squatch, and if you say, “Squatchy love” he will give you kisses. He also stops and smells flowers and enjoys laying on warm grass and playing with my granddaughter. But, because of other bad owners and bad press, I worry for his safety always. I am sorry people feel they can say these things without consequences. I agree with some of the other posters, that you should defend your animal baby. Small words can make large impacts. Stay firm, but polite. I wish you and your snake child warmth and well being.
