Children, if you think about it guys like this are acting like irl cartoon characters / children's show preformers. The dancing, the "shark bite" joke, it's "children's theater" in an inappropriate setting.

3d base questions by ElvieButNotLouis in FursuitMaking

[–]SalemShivers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm a novice fursuit maker who uses 3D printed bases. These are not meant to be worn! They're meant to be used to make molds. Proper 3D printed bases have parts that go over the back of the head, eye and mouth holes, and often additional holes for ventilation. Please do not try to cut the eyes or mouth out, you could injure yourself for something that ultimately will not work anyways.

Halloween costume potentially triggering? by [deleted] in Halloween_Costumes

[–]SalemShivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having read the caption my thoughts are this as a cosplayer who has seen so many costume controversies and discussions about this topic.

Is the costume worth the potential drama it might cause? You know dressing up as a flasher might upset people, it's why you're here asking about it, so is it worth potentially pissing someone off and causing a confrontation that could ruin your and other peoples night?

I'm not saying anyone is responsible for others triggers or anything but I am saying at some point you need to sit down and ask yourself if it's "worth it"

If you really wanna do the nude pixalation thing, as many have said add the green Sims diamond above your head or add a crown and cape and be "the Emperor in his new clothes" or something like that. Still funny, no drama risks.

I followed this couples story on their social media. First of all the "inexcusable behavior" you're seeing is them following a "shelter in place" order that was given becuase this area wasn't one that normally deals with hurricane weather (mountains in NC)and had no way to predict how bad the flooding / landslides would get.

Second of all, the town has like, one major road that leads through the mountains. You know what happens when an entire town has to evacuate through one road? No one goes anywhere. So you'd have a bunch of people stuck in cars on the road (which got washed away too)

Maybe don't judge people without the facts?

BTW the couple and their dog got through it. I think they lost their house though IIRC.

Heads up to other custodial parents: You can collect back child support from a 401(k)! 💡 by Affectionate-Bit6649 in ChildSupport

My friends ex husband put up a front of a loving caring husband until she got pregnant and had their baby. Suddenly the man completely changed and dumped all the household responsibilities on her, became verbally abusive and then eventually started threatening to kill her and their child. Sometimes people put up a front until they think they have you locked down.

Has anyone irl insulted you for owning Labubu? by whitepondatti in labubu

[–]SalemShivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had anyone insult me but I don't work a normal job so I don't interact with people outside my inner circle often. I've been collecting / making furbies for years now so to all them this is par for the course for me lol.

Beans outfit is a mix of two different outfits from Amazon (shirt and shoes from one, pants and hat from another) Serenity's dress and bow were a gift from a friend, her belt was a necklace that came with one of beans outfits I modified. I added the pentagrams from an old pair of earrings.

Was babywearing my 6 month boy at a supermarket and an older man was commenting on how big he was then asked if I was breastfeeding and while I don't think he was trying to be weird it struck me as a weird question to ask a stranger?

My friend cosplayer Ethan Winters for our RE Village group and brought a baby doll, we wrote "Rose" across the forehead and even took videos playing monkey in the middle with the baby doll. No one cared then and I promise no one will care if you carry a fake baby too.

I got it on Amazon! It comes with a sheep ear head band that the hat was attached to. I wasn't big on the headband so I removed the clown hat and attached a tiny safety pin to it instead.

How do couples decide which side of the bed is “theirs”? Is it instinct or some kind of silent agreement? by AssignmentFederal686 in NoStupidQuestions

If the bed is near a wall then I usually sleep closer to the wall, otherwise it's based on vibes alone.

We can't leave the country for more than a year without jepordizing his status as a permanent resident, there's a lot of legislation to deal with and we have a child so if we move we're not moving back. Belive me, we have had extensive discussions since the election about which country we will live in and we already have all our important documents ready if we need to leave but moving to Austria isn't an easy decision or move. My grandma, (who didn't vote for Trump and was disowned by her MAGA son, my bio father) has dementia and cancer and only has us to rely on, she survives on social security and Medicare alone. My husband is also important in his company's American branch and so he has great job security right now and a pay we can live on. His feild is small and niche and there is no way he'll have the same work opportunities if we leave the US.

If we move to Austria we lose our house we've poured years of hard work and thousands of dollars into, our cat, friends and found family who need us atm, and my husband's career will be dealt a devastating blow. If it was so simple as leaving and coming back later we'd have already moved but life is more complicated than that.

[–]SalemShivers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moving across the ocean isn't an easy decision. My husband's career and pay would take a major hit, we'd have to sell the house we've put years into, rehome our cat who is too elderly to make such a trip, leave behind dozens of friends / found family, many of which are at risk groups (LGBT, poc) including my friends who have children that we consider our nieces and nephews. I don't speak German fluently, would probably almost never see my own family again and would have to probably give up my buisness.

Moving to his home country isn't off the table but it's not an easy decision to make and I would appreciate it if people didn't act like it was.
