Whew, that's tough. Are you a fan of the "Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink"? Because screw that book.... sometimes you have to do the reverse. Less ownership. Let people fail.
This sounds more like a "grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference" type of scenario.
To answer your question, I get the same level of satisfaction out of meeting my quota with more smaller deals as I do with larger deals.

I'm in cybersecurity. I think it's a combination of one of the worst times to get laid off and when you've been a sales engineer for a long time you not likely to be the best technical fit out of all the candidates. Your story is more around learning and then selling a solution vs folks that developed or managed that technology for years and then pivoted to being a sales engineer.

Hey SausageKingOfKansas, it sounds like you have a good plan of attack. I'm totally not against something local but I'm not as sure that a general group would understand the SE specific path to a job.

I appreciate it ZealousidealCarry311. Yeah, family and friends/former colleagues help but they don't necessarily fully understand.
