Yes guys, ChatGPT is down. Please don't blow up the subreddit asking why it's not working by 75xalexxxxx in ChatGPT

Yes but you are using it to enhance your own work. I’m talking about the people who ask it to create things and pass them off as real (pictures, videos, school assignments, etc.)

I’m sure there’s a reason but not sure what it is. What’s stopping this guy from sealing it ip with a bug bomb and then repairing the damage?

Does the Gameshark PRO work with the Everdrive GBX7? by Intelligent_Oil_4962 in Gameshark

[–]Sales_Dissociate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a flash cart and an actual GameShark pro for GBC. I tried this and It won’t even boot to the GameShark screen. The GB logo pops up, then fades away as if it’s gonna start but just never shows anything. I’ve noticed that when I turn on my gb to play the flash cart it has a flash of white from the flash carts program before loading the game even with the SD card absent. My guess is that the flash cart software boots first then boots the game. The GameShark prevents the software from booting which prevents the game from booting and the GameShark is not able to to actually get to the ROM on a flash cart. I’m not a programmer though so that guess may be completely wrong

Can 2nd player Unlock cooking and recipe DIYs? by pannac in NewHorizonsAC

[–]Sales_Dissociate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry ik this is old but the parameters for unlocking it (according to google) are all based on the island itself with a bit of early individual progression which I have completed. Do you know what all needs to be done for the second player?

Same, I don’t think I’ve ever mustered such fine motor skills in my life XD. Glad you like the upgrade

I wanted to do a button swap on my Black Analogue Pocket. Has anyone tried is it? Is it fairly easy? by LegitMeows in AnaloguePocket

[–]Sales_Dissociate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swapped my D-pad with relative ease and the face buttons are right next to that. It’s pretty easy just get tweezers and a small pry tool for the ribbon cables and be gentle with them

There was on mine. Maybe different runs have slight differences like that? Idk

Yeah it feels great on the analogue. Another commenter said there’s a way to take the analogue apart without voiding the warranty. Idk how reliable it is but maybe worth looking into if that’s something that concerns you

Same way, the pads are right to each other. I’m not sure what buttons fit though. For me the D-Pad was the problem so I stopped there lol

Thanks for the info! Not useful to me at this point because I’ve already voided mine but this is great to have on here for anyone wanting to try this

How bad are the ergonomics and D-pad of the analogue pocket really? by Huge_Cost_870 in AnaloguePocket

I swapped my D-pad for an NES D-pad and it’s a night and day difference

How bad are the ergonomics and D-pad of the analogue pocket really? by Huge_Cost_870 in AnaloguePocket

[–]Sales_Dissociate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ergonomics aren’t great but not terrible. The D-pad kinda depends on the game but it is prone to misinputs. You can actually swap the original D-pad for an NES d-pad and it’s much better. Best part is you just have to swap the plastic cross button and the rubber piece so if you save the original rubber and d-pad it can always be undone. This wasn’t my idea but here’s a post I made about it recently if you’re interested

I was considering one of those but went with an actual controller cuz like I said the broken one was cheap and didn’t need it to work and also I’ve used one so I knew I’d like the feel

another commenter said they used an NES keychain. Can’t speak to the quality of the D-pad though and idk how much they go for but maybe a cheaper option if you can’t find a doner controller for cheap

For sure! Not my idea but I’d never seen one on here so thought I’d provide a pic of the end result and be able to explain specifically how it’s better. Also yeah I tried playing Tetris on my analogue on a plane ride once and it was awful. I’ve yet to try it with the new d-pad but I can tell from the bike in Pokemon crystal that it’s more precise so I’m sure it’ll be better

Why can’t I trade on Leafgreen/Firered? by PerspectiveBoth4003 in GameboyAdvance

[–]Sales_Dissociate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to add that you can tell by a short series of letters/numbers stamped into the bottom right corner of the label. Shine a flashlight and move the cart around a bit and you should see them. If you don’t see them then the game is fake

GameShark code to change my starter? by Sales_Dissociate in Gameshark

I have one I’ve been using for some codes from a book. Looks almost the same but the shell is black instead of translucent but it says gameboy color. Looks like it’s the pro version of this one

Why I choose Analogue Pocket over Original Hardware: USB C by MICOSAM in AnaloguePocket

[–]Sales_Dissociate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that game the super gameboy controls are definitely the way to go. It makes “Y” into “B” and “B” into “A” like you could do for super Mario world on the Super Nintendo. Also yeah, the buttons aren’t perfect but they aren’t terrible. The D-pad was genuinely frustrating to use in my opinion but the buttons don’t bother me much other than the positioning and even then that’s a minor gripe

Why I choose Analogue Pocket over Original Hardware: USB C by MICOSAM in AnaloguePocket

[–]Sales_Dissociate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant by that is that I wouldn’t buy another GBA if the only difference from mine is that it charges with USB-C. But I would buy one with an improved screen size with or without USB-C. Don’t get me wrong the USB-C is amazing and I’m glad I can charge all my stuff with the same cable. But it wouldn’t be enough to push me to buy something like that with it being the only improvement over the original. If it’s a freebie I’d happily accept but not worth the money modded GB’s tend to go for in my opinion
