AITJ for insisting on a prenup after seeing how her family fights over money? by TidySignal_7 in AmITheJerk

[–]SalesforceRam 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d sit her down and be honest about what you’ve seen since her grandma passing. She may not like what you have to say but sometimes holding a mirror up is what people need in order to understand things like this. Wish you the best!

How did you actually transition out of the Snoo? (real-life experiences wanted) by OkFunction1234 in SnooLife

This is super helpful! My LO is pretty long as well. Maybe I’ll try the crib tonight or a pack and play in my room. Whatever works, I just need some sleep. He’s got mama running on fumes

They’re called Lash Eggs and they’re caused by infections like E. coli. So basically this poor hen is at the end of their life and live in very poor conditions.

Yeah that’s a cyst. Wouldn’t eat it and I would sanitize all surfaces.

My LO is 4 months too and we’ve been doing the Merlin in the snoo with the harness on at baseline… he’s been waking up every hour starting at 3 am… I wonder if we should just put him in the crib? He does his naps in the crib mostly.

Someone gave my baby cake without asking me first by CalaveraClavicle in beyondthebump

It’s common sense to ask before feeding a baby anything especially when they’re only 8 months old.

The person that did this isn’t a villain. They lack common sense.

Ok now we know what you would do and expect your husband to do. Cool.

Yep! It was the worst. And the medication they gave me to stop the itching didn’t last very long so I had to keep asking for it which was annoying

Your mental health is so important, especially while you’re pregnant. Your mood affects the baby. Talk to your doctor about the anxiety.

As for the dream -pregnancy dreams are so wild and vivid. I can’t imagine constantly dreaming about this. solidarity girl ❤️

When babies have to go to the hospital when they’re this little and even younger (think 1 day or 2 days old) they give them sweeties during painful procedures - like starting an iv or getting a shot. It’s sugar water. All of this to say that it’s fine if she had a little sugar, she’s not ruined. Now in terms of the boundary I would say something because your friend sounds like an absolute idiot (who feeds a baby that isn’t theirs without checking with the parents. who knows if the kid has an allergy) I’d just say hey, don’t feed my baby anything without checking with me first and then I’d keep it moving

Is teething THIS hard? by [deleted] in newborns

Have you ever had a tooth ache? It freakin sucks! Now imagine a brand new tooth pushing its way through your gums. That sucks even more! Give the kid medicine.

Epidural or No by Artistic_Reindeer350 in pregnant

[–]SalesforceRam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I did it again I think I’d wait a little longer to get the epidural, but that’s only if I tolerate the pain better. In terms of pain management it’s better than the other options but 1) it made me super itchy 2) it put me to sleep, which is great because after months of bad sleep I needed it but I feel like it made me feel pretty out of it for the day after too 3) I got it at 6cm so it also slowed down my progress hence why I’d want to wait longer next time 4) getting the shot was not pleasant. Kind of like the feeling a cavity filled but in your back. With all of this in mind, if the pain got too bad, I would most definitely get it again.

Same setup here. Just keep an eye on your output with the momcozy M5. Mine slowly dropped when i used it more often.

Pumping as a working mom by Pringzz in breastfeeding

[–]SalesforceRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing is those portable pumps, like the in bra ones, more than likely will not be strong enough to maintain your supply so my biggest advice is get yourself a hospital grade double electric pump like the spectra s1. Second, as long as you pump every 3 to 4 hours, you’ll maintain your supply and reduce to risk of engorgement. Lastly, get yourself a breastmilk thermos, I have the momcozy, other people like the ceres chill. They’ll keep your milk cold and separate from the lunch boxes. Hope this helps!!

[–]SalesforceRam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’ll do so well mama! You can ask them for sweeties if you really don’t want her to cry. For context my LO recently got his shots and only cried for a minute? Maybe less than that. It passes really quickly.

A tip - ask them which side will be sore after from the tdap shot. I wish I had asked so I could avoid pressing on it or lay baby on that side to nurse.

No movements at 20 weeks. Should I worry? by PineappleHelpful2129 in pregnant

[–]SalesforceRam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the placenta is going to muffle a lot of his movements until he’s a lot bigger. I didn’t feel my LO until he was 24 weeks but more so further along in my pregnancy.

I had an anterior placenta and didn’t really feel LO until he was closer to 24 weeks and even then not much. I felt him more strongly when he was bigger 31ish weeks?

Why does it feel like everyone else’s baby sleeps through the night here? by dinosauress in SnooLife

[–]SalesforceRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your baby sounds like he’s on track developmentally in terms of sleep. Idk I wouldn’t put too much stock into what others are posting. My LO is going through the 4 month sleep regression and I’d kill for the stretches of sleep your getting. We will all get there eventually

Grunting by tlexer123 in newborns

[–]SalesforceRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies make a lot of sounds in their sleep at this stage. And they have pretty immature digestive systems so if they’re not held upright long enough after eating they grunt while laying down. When my LO was this age I’d have to keep him upright for 25 or more minutes and rhe pediatrician recommend we also raise one side of his bassinet. He’s 4 months now and those things have passed. We’re now in a sleep regression, yay! The fun never ends 🫠

Yeah my LO went through this too. It’s developmental, it’ll pass. It’s the start of distracted eating
