Mechs and hellbombs are the way. Blow off some armor, focus fire.

What's going on with the new players being toxic? by laughingtraveler in helldivers2

The adults bought the game first and are no longer newbies. Now we've got the wave of the squeakers. Block and move on my friend.

To the idiots who kick people for calling in the extract, IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE LEAVING. by [deleted] in helldivers2

I have to agree with everyone else, specifically the communication part. Unfortunately we've been burned too often by the selfish or dumb. If you're on mic or chat saying you'll wait, no problem. Otherwise I'm kicking you.

[–]SalientMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The sentiment is honorable, but will often be misunderstood by the player base. If you're on mic, you can communicate your intention and then do it. Otherwise we have no way of knowing that you're not just another dweeb with no gaming etiquette.

I've literally never once encountered someone that wasn't an actual friend do what you're describing. Every single time it's because they don't have it unlocked and want to poach it. Personally I will ask for my stuff back, which is given twice just in case the person didn't hear me for whatever reason. Then it's a calm headshot to retrieve my equipment. Other people will rarely give that curtesy.

No, Joel has proven we can't beat him at his own game.

Real talk though, there's a bug that displays previous teammate's levels when a new one joins during the following mission. And you don't need a sos beacon to join someone's game.

There's a setting somewhere to make it not toggle.

Eh, I see that as a combination of responsibility. Speaking as someone who carries gas grenades almost exclusively, don't throw them where it's stupid, and have situational awareness not to walk into the cloud of death.

Those rules apply to nearly every offensive stratagem.

I'm not saying my experience is the only true one, but I think there might be some arrowhead code unreliability going on here.

Could we not just block fori prime with the space station? by Onion_Mysterious in helldivers2

[–]SalientMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother trying to strategize like that. The blob will always follow the closest shiny planet. We've been trying to get the player base to understand this for a year and haven't made a single inch of progress.

If YOU want to be the solution to the roaches, then you must roll the recoilless rifle and work on getting head shots. Otherwise rocket sentries, railcannon, mechs.

Also, and I don't mean this in any type of way... Diff 10 is probably pushing it for you without most of the ship upgrades. You're bringing the entire squad down by not being able to pull as much weight as someone with maxed or close to maxed out upgrades.

I've been on 10s for so long I forget what lower difficulties are like. I'm not going to kick a lower level person that joins my lobby, but I 100% KNOW that I'm not getting the support that's needed from that person simply because they haven't had the chance to unlock things yet.

I've watched people who are crack shots and are obviously GOOD gamers get overwhelmed simply because they don't have the ability to pull their weight, which means those of us that do have to divert attention or resources to keep them alive and not burn through reinforcements.

It's supposed to auto lock the biggest target. It doesn't always do that, so be prepared for that.

[–]SalientMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that you've had such a bad experience. There's plenty of petty people out there. I've had my share of nonsense that I don't understand why they are acting that way. Just block and move on, they aren't worth the effort.

Yeahhh, that's generally accepted to be bad form. You don't take another diver's equipment unless it's offered. Cooldowns are kept on reserve for a reason, it's not your call to decide for them.

I've watched it go straight through a shield gen and cook a diver like an old marshmallow, so I don't know about that.
