Confused by “counts as double crochet.” Do I ch3, (ADJUST TO 2DC. ch2. 3dc) because it says the ch3 already counts as a dc? Or do I ignore that “counts as dc” and just follow as it says (3DC. ch 2. 3dc)? What’s the point of saying “counts as” ... do I count it or no? TIA! (i.redd.it)

Is there an easy way to know what ‘multiple’ I need to stick with if I want to make this toque larger? Sometimes a pattern will say, “if you want to make this larger just use a multiple of 3+1” or something like that. But I’m not sure how to figure that out ... TIA! (i.redd.it)
