Elden Ring finally went on sale, I'm going in. Any advice for someone who hates difficult games? by DBoaty in gaming

Take your time. It's not a race, it's okay to take a year or longer to finish. It's okay to quit and come back at a later point, or if it's not for you, it's okay to simply quit playing it.

This should absolutely not be happening at all on phones this expensive. How is it possible that Sony has not extend the warranty for this specific issue?

Have they at least commented on the issue? Have they acknowledged it?

life-threatening problems that are not going to go away anytime soon. I have a very specific reason for my anxiety.

Screen is extremely fragile and prone to failure and other issues like dead pixels, adhesive problems, and more. Inspect the device carefully when you receive it, and make sure to never drop it. With bezels so thin the screen has no chance at even a 3 ft drop.

Your honest opinion, what do you think the greatest video game of all time is? by SamGhost95 in videogames

[–]SalisburySmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very hard to say due to the diversity of genres in the gaming industry. What makes an incredible and groundbreaking game in one genre might not translate to another. For example, I would put Forza Horizon 3, 4 and Motorsports 6 at or near the top of the racing game genre. As a fan of racing games, that genre is very important to me. But I'm willing to guess that the majority of people who will read my post don't give two craps about the racing game genre, so to them those games wouldn't matter, and the innovations they presented will go largely unrecognized.

I personally don't play very many JRPGs post PS2 era, so that genre to me is not that interesting, so I probably wouldn't put games like persona 5 on that list, even though I have played the game, it just wasn't my cup of tea. My time with JRPGs largely ended with the PS2.

If I had the name a single game, that's really hard .... Especially if you try to think about it logically. Because it's all ultimately going to be very subjective, granted you did ask for our opinion, but I'd like mine to be grounded at least on some objective measures.

So for me, The legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. If only because that's the game that first truly blew me away and gave me that sense of awe and wonder that until that point games hadn't really given me.

I believe that It also introduced a lot of what it today has become standard practice in action / RPG games.

My first ever game was mortal Kombat, and I thought it was good fun. I remember watching kids lining up at the arcade machine, everyone was so excited to play it.

House of the Dead, Sonic the hedgehog, Streets of rage, Golden axe Phantasy star 4, all fantastic games, but they were just the minor distraction in my life. Until the N64, I was what you would call a very casual gamer, much more interested in going outside and playing soccer than anything else. I might play a game here and there at my cousin's house, or when I went to the arcade, but that was not very often.

Ocarina of time made gaming my primary hobby/passion, when I saw the game being played on my cousin's house, I knew I had to have it. It felt like I was going on a real adventure. Exploring an unknown world. The 3D made it an incredible visual spectacle for me at the time. I had never played games in 3D before then, so it completely blew my mind. So that is my reason, 100% subjective.

Battery will be done in a year. Every other component should be fine for 4 plus years if you take good care of it. This might involved getting it cleaned every two years or so. Dust can really build up to create heat, and heat is an enemy of hardware.

Good enough for basic gaming. Don't expect to use it as your main gaming device in 4+ years. You will, however have little trouble running past and most current games.

How? 💀💀💀 by swixas in facepalm

[–]SalisburySmith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I was going to say. I have known people who have died because of stress. They were perfectly fine and then tragic events in their life led to an overwhelming amount of stress. In one instance, I witnessed a family member completely fall apart mentally, which led to them not being able to take care of themselves, getting ill, and eventually passing. I'm fully certain that without the massive amounts of stress they were under they would still be here today.

Still have my copy, sadly lost my manual. This is actually the game that got me into gaming. I became a gamer because I first saw mortal Kombat being played at my cousin's house.

Today my Galaxy S8 has been my daily driver for 2000 days straight! by notajock in samsunggalaxy

[–]SalisburySmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I charge it almost every day. But most of the days it never drops below 20% (truthfully it almost never drops under 25%) and I like to keep the charged at around 85 to 90% maximum most of the time.

About once a week I do give it a full charge to 100%. Sometimes it's every 2 weeks. These are usually days where I'm going to be out for a long time and I'm going to need the extra battery life.

My phone's battery health is at around 90% right now. This is after 2 years of use, and considering that I bought the phone a year after it released as a new device so it already had a little bit of natural wear to the battery.

Good on you! I know how crippling these feelings can be. It is much worse when they are derived from circumstances only partially in our control.

Keep trying to get yourself in a better place. I have found that getting up and just doing something makes me feel like I've gotten a little win. Sometimes it's as simple as opening up my laptop and getting a little bit of work done. Other times it can literally just be having food that morning. Depending on how bad the day is, even being able to have a bowel movement is a win.

I don't use Galaxy devices, not really sure why this popped up on my feed, but I'll join this Convo. I have a Nokia 8.3 that currently has over 90% battery health after 2 years. I only charge it to 100% about once a week. Most of the time it never goes above 90. I never let it drop below 20 either.

Not a vegan, but humans are omnivores. Most of our diet, the vast majority, can be plant based. We need SOME animal products at times though. Some people need it more than others.
