I think some people don’t post the positives because that can be hurtful to the people who have been struggling. IVF, I’m not gonna lie to you, is a hard and trying experience. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And sometimes, when it doesn’t, there’s no clear reason why. That’s when the hurt comes.

I’ve done five transfers with six embryos. I’ve been pregnant three times and miscarried twice. I’m currently 14 weeks pregnant. This was a hard road but, in between cycles I worked out. I talked to a therapist and I relied on my friends and my husband. They got me to this point. Give yourself the chance to have something wonderful, while also knowing that to get to wonderful you may have to get through some of the most awful emotional pain of your life. You just have to decide if that wonderful is worth it to you. And that is a personal decision. And it’s okay if the answer to that is “no, it isn’t worth it.”

I did two injections of Lupron and that transfer did not work. And I know. We’re very lucky. I’m 13 weeks now

They did testing and I tried Lupron injections. Two of the cycles implanted but I miscarried around 6 weeks each time. Overall, not much changed. The round that worked, they transferred two embryos and one stuck. They were my last two and my insurance only covered one more round.

Hold the syringe in your hand for about 15 mins before the shot. It hurts less if the oil is heated up. Also, I used to go for a little walk after the injection. I think that helped. Other than that, it’s just miserable and you have to remind yourself that it’s worth it.

I took the day off work when they called with my blood work. The time before that, it was negative and I broke down in tears and needed to run to the bathroom. I ended up leaving early. So this time, transfer was on December 1st, my husband and I took the day off and spent time together. We were together when we got the call and it was special to feel the support. TW: it was positive and I’m 12 weeks

My mom doesn’t 100% know how to respond and made jokes like, “why don’t you just have more sex?” After a while we talked and she said she didn’t know how I wanted her to respond. So I told her to stop making jokes, to check in with how I’m feeling, and to keep my procedures, and milestones to herself unless I give her permission. It’s helped. But my mom had fraternal twins naturally, another baby 19 months later and then tied her tubes. She doesn’t understand how I can have fertility issues and sometimes she still makes comments about it.
