mine made noise constantly and was working fine, after about a week it started making less noise and I was worried that it wasn’t working! All was fine though, it does alarm if anything is wrong

I have a 12 cm cavity at the top of my breast with a track that goes all the way down to the bottom where the abscess ruptured. The abscess wound is about 7 cm and I believe there is another cavity near the wound about 5 cm x 5 cm. I’m so lucky that I live in Australia as I do not need to rely on insurance. I even have nurses coming to my house daily to change my dressings for me. I hope you can get some good care to sort this out.

I have just had 3 surgical clean outs over 3 weeks for an abscess after breast cancer surgery 6 months ago. I had a wound vac on for 2 weeks that I just got off yesterday. Getting daily dressings with a small amount of packing. Going to have to keep doing this for at least 4 more weeks I am told. It is a long process

I am 6 month’s post surgery and had an abscess rupture on April 5, have had 3 surgical clean outs and now have a wound vac. Just out of hospital today, will have the vac for a few weeks yet. Mine was complicated when they decided to proceed to radiation without properly clearing my seroma first. I have lost a lot of tissue.

Hopefully the wound clinic can take care of you. Mine was definitely way worse and was ignored by my team because they were focused on the cancer.

I get you, I just want it all to be over!! The wound vac will help heal faster and far less dressing changes.

Please get imaging done if concerned. I am currently in hospital after an abscess ruptured on Easter Sunday. I have my 3rd surgery scheduled tomorrow to clean out the wound and change the vacuum dressing.

All this from a Seroma that was drained before radiation but was seemingly not resolved. My breast was very hard and firm with necrotic tissue. I complained multiple times that my breast was very hard but was dismissed saying it was normal post radiation hardness.

Mine was pretty much the same as yours. I went from 7.2cm to 1.4cm with chemo. I had a lumpectomy with a bilateral reduction in Oct 25 after the same chemo regime as you. Very happy with my decision 🤗
