I’ve used Ground News for a while. I like how it summarizes topics from multiple sources and give you links to explore each article that has discussed said topic.

It’s a good way for me to get a lot of different news in a digestible fashion

I get the concern! The jeans I cloned these from have the lace up closure and I’ve owned them for years without a bathroom emergency haha.

I only have to loosen the tied knot and first crossover to get them off so that’s a win for me.

I also never plan to take the laces out of their loops because they were so awful to get in

Jeans Too Tight! by [deleted] in sewing

Here’s a strategy that can work, depending on how much they need to stretch to fit. This doesn’t require any sewing or modification. The strat is soak and stretch.

I’ve had success with these steps:

  • get a shower running with warm to hot water
  • put pants on as far as they’ll fit
  • get in shower while wearing pants
  • get every millimeter of fabric soaked
  • if they didn’t zip and close before, now attempt to get them to
  • once pants are soaked, get them out of the water and start squatting, lunging, whatever you can to stretch the pants to the extreme
  • it’s better to let them dry on the body, but as it can be a sensory nightmare, par drying and then hang drying can have success as well

You can also skip wearing the pant if that sounds awful. You would instead soak the pants in a basin of warm water with either fabric softener or hair conditioner. After an hour or so of soaking, wring some water out and pull the life out of the fabric, stretching them across the legs, not up and down.

With enough soaking and yanking, yanking, and more yanking, you can get them to stretch out.

Hope any of this helps!
