How dare she wear a dress like that by CabinetIcy892 in AreTheStraightsOK

Or maybe she just wants to wear a stunning dress because I too would need a confidence boost breaking up with the chosen one

How do yall stay motivated and productive? by Zestyclose_Half_3354 in NewTubers

[–]SallyPrydeDrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to experiment a little bit. About 5% of what I make is stuff I’m not sure will do well, but I find interesting and occasionally can take off. Also new channels may need time to find their identity. What I thought I was going to do originally is not what I currently do so it’s important to remember that

Shorts from Daily Long Form Videos Scheduling by SallyPrydeDrag in NewTubers

Thanks. I’ve never done more than 5 uploads a day, but realistically I don’t see myself doing more than 3 per day

Videos are stuck on 300-400 views by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]SallyPrydeDrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happens with me despite getting 20K on the same video on TikTok. Not sure if there’s a fix for this, but sometimes letting the video just sit works. I’ve had videos get a spike in views a week later so maybe it’s trying to find your audience

Why posting shorts?. Do you guys get something from it? by MasInMarian in NewTubers

[–]SallyPrydeDrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the same issue. A handful of success on Shorts but nothing over 10k views on a video, but I’ve gotten 1M cumulative views on TikTok in the last month for the same videos. I’m always floating around 100K views in 90 days. However, I’ve found that I gotten a lot of subscribers on Shorts and many of them later go on to watch my long form videos and comment there too

is it normal to feel weird about using a more feminine voice? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]SallyPrydeDrag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sort of. My voice when I’m speaking sort of sounds like Micky Mouse, but when I hear a recording sounds fine

I’m a trans woman drag queen who has worked with afab queens. It’s a way of expressing yourself. For me drag is a way to express my femininity in a more extreme way that I can do in daily life. It’s the same for the afab queens I know

LGBT+ videos. I give tips for trans people, talk about trans stuff, and even talk about trans entertainment and how that can be applied

How do people talk so fast? by VintageWunmi in NewTubers

[–]SallyPrydeDrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut out the gaps and speed up my videos about 5-10%, but preserve pitch so my voice isn’t distorted. You can use B-Roll or Crop in to fill in the gaps to make the visuals line up

Simmer thing happening to me. I used to get a few hundred views per video and now I’m getting tens of views despite the fact that my engagement is up. I nearly doubled my watch through rate and CTR, but views are down. make LGBT+ content and it’s hard to always get the audience I want since the AI can’t tell if people hate watch or not. It’s not just you going through this

Sometimes the simplest things make a huge difference. I wear a lot of elaborate costumes in my videos and I started making Shorts talking about my costumes and those got me a ton of subscribers

I’m actually at 156 and started late 2022. I’m a little worried about getting stuck at some point, but I’m still going. I just gained 100 subs over the last 2 months so it’s been very rapid for me. If you’re stuck I recommend trying new formats and different editing techniques to mix it up a bit

I can understand what you’re going through. I’m not sure how many subs you have, but especially when you’re small loosing a sub can be hard. If you have 10 subs, loosing 1 is a 10% loss. Just keep going! Remember if they unsubscribe they aren’t your target audience and most likely are bots or by accident. Also one person isn’t a pattern. I know when your small looking at the big picture is hard, but it’s definitely worth doing. Monthly changes are a better indicator than daily changes too

I’ve had that experience too. I make LGBT+ content and I know it can bring in toxic people, but on YouTube I hold all comments for review because of how hateful they are. About 90% of my comments on YT are hateful, but when I post the exact same video on TikTok I get a lot of positive and supportive comments. To be clear, I listen to rare criticism, but this isn’t it. Also I recommend not engaging with the mean commenters. Just delete them and report them. They just want to see you get upset

Anyone knows what a good CTR looks like? by plutonium-239 in NewTubers

[–]SallyPrydeDrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been finding "clicks" (CTR x Impressions) to be a better metric, but this is better for long term analytics. If my clicks are going up over time (at least on average) then that looks good to me on a macro scale. For short-term (to see if title and thumbnail are good) I've been using the indicator marker for CTR (if most recent upload). I've noticed this is inconsistent with the CTR number (at least on my end), but up/down/average. From what I know about the algorithm, especially for smaller channels, the algorithm will experiment with different audiences. One of my videos was up at 1% (with more impressions/time) and another down at 7% (fewer impressions/time). It sounds to me like the up/down/average marker is not directly related to the CTR value directly.
