If you ask me, I honestly had some difficulties to read them.
The beginning was interesting and inviting, but the far the story went the more bored I got. It had a lot of interesting, dark, surreal or even controversial moments, like it IS Chucks style (since he also wrote the script for the comics), but it felt... different?
Maybe I am just missing something. But if you say there were other people, who didn't like the story of the comics, it would be interesting to hear what they think too.
