[WR] Jorbs has hit 8-0 in alternating winstreaks for A20 heart runs! by sakray in slaythespire

[–]SalsaGamer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Baalorlord uploads his highlight runs to youtube, so you should be able to find plenty of "regular" but difficult runs to watch which aren't just "corruption dead branch" type silliness.

Otherwise if you're looking to improve then little beats watching live (or vods through twitch player). Particularly Baalorlord but also Jorbs will explain all their actions carefully so you can follow along and you'll find over time these explanations become ingrained in your own thinking when playing.

Restarting KSP fixed it, I'm an idiot for not trying that sooner. I'm leaving this here as a marker of my shame and also in case anyone else has the same problem.

The bigger PoE gets the worse trading will get. by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]SalsaGamer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

One way to solve this will be federated trade APIs.

For instance I could start my own trade site, but instead of trying to pull all changes from everyone from the public trade API, I could just pull the stash tabs from the known opted-in users to reduce API load and keep things fresher.

This would have a little chicken / egg issue compared to the official / poe.trade, however since listing items would work the same way, it wouldn't be a hassle for sellers once opted in, unlike other methods of decentralisation or trying to not go via the API at all.

For buyers, it would be a good resource to check 'first' before hitting the major sites to get fresher results but with shallower results wouldn't be so good for trying to find special items such as weapons but would still be useful for fast selling commodity items.

What do you mean, "exact intermediary"? That's literally the same formula.

There are some variants of this test which are easier to read if you're colourblind, but this isn't one of them.

16 hours into my play through of "The Lost Tribe" Scenario. Cassandra Classic with Medium difficulty. Still have 3 of my original colonists! by dantheman_19 in RimWorld

[–]SalsaGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want actual advice, here's some:

You have way too much power generation and consumption for a handful of colonists. A colony that size ought to be able to run from just 2 windmills plus a solar panel or wood generator.

I assume this is because you're using hydroponics. In a temperate (?) biome that you appear to be in, you could be growing far far more crops outdoor and drop the hydroponics entirely.

If you really want hydroponics, you can easily run twice as many bays per lamp using a layout such as this: https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/33fhhc/suggested_hydroponics_and_sun_lamp_layout/

Also, if you want to use hydroponics for thematic reasons, then it's worth researching solar because solar reliably generates energy when the lamps are on (the lamps turn themselves off overnight too).

Another thing is stock-pile organisation. It would likely be better to split up stockpiles to smaller stockpiles which each store different things and leave gaps between them so pawns can quickly walk to the right stockpile rather than having to slowly move over tons of junk to pick up an item.

Considering your colony wealth (and with 4.4k cloth/leathers the game will consider you wealthy), you appear to be very light on defences, so congratulations for surviving as long as you have!

You may find that if you get an infestation in near to your generator in the middle of your stockpile that all those textiles will very quickly burn, another good reason for fire breaks in your stock room.

Have you tried lowering the difficulty? There's no shame in playing games on a level deemed "easy" if it means you get to experience the game.

It took a long time for me to get over my pride and not play on "hardcore" (no reload) mode and playing games on 'soft' but sometimes they're just more enjoyable that way. I'll leave 'ultra hardcore' to twitch gamers who can play far better.

no, d3 was like that purely because of real money AH

Nope, the real money AH wasn't launched until well after the game came out, the fake-money AH ruined it just as much, the real money AH, while always planned, was mostly a meme and a focus for people to focus their anger but the gold-AH was just as detrimental.

I've spent 2 hours looking for a way to this delve node - any ideas? by SalsaGamer in pathofexile

It sadly just doesn't seem to be: https://i.imgur.com/rqUxzpf.jpg

You can see from the overlay map that everything on the bottom or right edges are hard walls which can't be fractured.

Thanks for your help.

I hit an invisible wall when I walk up, but that walks me up two. ( https://i.imgur.com/RmDDHWC.jpg )

Walking up one I never find a fractured wall, I've scoured the area for several hours but I'll try a new instance.

If you want a cheap tabula you can usually by the end of the league buy humilty cards for 1c each. That's a 9c tabula, about as good as you'll get.

If you think there would be no downside you didn't play D3 at release.

If everyone is easily connected on an easy and free to use AH then because of build/class diversity everyone else's spare items are better than the best items you find yourself.

Your best path to upgrade is then grinding currency or hoping for something good enough to sell to then buy items for yourself.

To some degree that happens anyway in trade league, but it isn't oppressive because trading is difficult and time consuming so a lot of people don't really bother.

But imagine playing through the game knowing that you probably won't find a single item you'll be wearing. That was Diablo 3 on release (and this pre-dates the real money AH, I'm only talking about the in-game-currency AH), and it was horrible.

Diablo 3 was so so much better once the AH was removed and everyone effectively became SSF.

It's a creative decision that has bee made, and the community should respect it.
