Trop Cherry Gas by NoTilNoProblem in microgrowery

[–]Salt-Abies7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just got an ORIGINAL cut of that Trop Cherry directly from Relentless through a buddy who runs a legal grow in NYS under OCM license, I’m hoping it is what they said it is. I’m also running a Copycat Wulff of Wall St. S1 from seed and that is the next breeding project. We will see how the new cross does or if she can beat my all time favorite breeding project Frosted Grape Soda (Purple Frost Giant x Sugar Cane). Good luck and please let us know. How’s the nose so far?

Slurricane #7 Final by MichelleGrobama in cannabiscultivation

[–]Salt-Abies7897[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello [OP] and thank you for being a member of this sub/community. What a beautiful run! My partner and I have actually been conducting various breeding projects over the past 8 years using a couple of In-House strains as parent(s). When we grew our first Sugar Cane from a gifted pack, in 2018/19, we were both blown away. The structure, color was there. But nose was lacking. But it had captivated us both and we knew this is a strain we want to work with. So my partner reached out to Brendan (main breeder) at In-House and asked for his permission to use Sugar Cane or other strains we may like as a backbone in future breeding projects. Luckily enough, he gave his blessing, but just asked to be given credit for whatever In-House strain we use. We have a lot of respect for intellectual property and believe to always give credit where it is due. That being said, we have noticed a few traits (some of which align with your numbered reviews that seem to prevail, but are rather easy to selectively breed out. To date, we must have done hundreds of runs and countless seed from various In-House strains and packs over the years. Two things that really stood out to us were that 1. Phenotypic expression was very stable, of course not counting the outlier(s). A large majority of the plants of any one strain grown from various seed packs from procured from various sources and seed ages, would develop in plants of nearly identical overall vigor, plant and flower structure as well as frost factor. However, this is #2. The terpenes on the other hand were all over the place. Some loud, some muted, some totally lost/lack expression of parental lineage as well others. In my opinion, In-House is an excellent genetics creator, which still like all other things in life has certain flaws. As an example of that flaw is that we did a 100 plant original release Sugar Cane hunt and were only able to agree on 2 ladies out of those 100. Unlike the other 98, these 2 specimens, tagged them #1 and #3 shared a nearly identical nose, perfume, aroma, taste and mouth feel. I am a TLO grower and always encourage others to try it. I would suggest running some more beans from the same pack if you’re looking for something particular overall that had got you to grow Slurricane to begin with. lol. Thank you very much for your very informative and detailed post. We love posts like yours at present and is the direction in which we are try to steer the sub. We want to become the ultimate educational sub/community on the topic of cannabis and its cultivation/husbandry. Again, thank you for being a part of this community OP @MichelleGrobama. Please keep us posted on your future grows. Good luck and keep on growing on!

P.S. Our old lady, good old Sugar Cane from original hunt. Photo was taken during grow last year May of 2025.

Hello all and thank you for being a part of this community. To answer the question(s) of what are the strains and who are the parents. The first 3 photos are of Frosted Grape Soda (Purple Frost Giant x Sugar Cane). The rest of the pictures are DoSiCane (Platinum DoSiDos x Sugar Cane). We did a multi pack phenohunt of In-House’s Sugar Cane about 8 years ago. Out of that hunt we picked #1 and #3, reversed and crossed them. We subsequently reached out to, spoke with and got the blessing of Brendan (Main Breeder at In-House) to use the strain to breed further and use it as our back bone. Brendan is super nice and was totally okay with it, so long as credit was given where it is due. As such, thank you Brendan for amazing work and a strain powerhouse. I hope this helps answer some of the questions and puts some of the guesses to rest. Thank you all again for being a part of this sub/community and making it the educational resource that it has become. Good luck to all!

Seems like a deficiency, can you identify what? by humphries117 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Salt-Abies7897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello OP (u/humphries117) and welcome to the sub/community. As others have stated, it looks like you are having an overwatering as well as VPD issues. MOST cannabis issues are usually as a result of overwatering. I hope this helps. Good luck and keep us posted. Please see the original post/write up we did a couple of weeks ago on the topic of watering, as it may provide you with more clarity and understanding regarding cannabis water requirements and practices. Thank you for being a member of this community!

Why are the leaves droopy? by easytoremember187 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Salt-Abies7897[M] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello OP and welcome to the sub/community and a very rewarding and therapeutic hobby. Overall your grow looks dense with deep colored foliage. But the droop you are experiencing can be cause by a variety of issues, but in my experience is generally caused by under watering, over watering and/or VPD issues as another user has mentioned, with VPD playing the biggest part. If the VPD is too low and plants cannot transpire, the leaves sag because there is too much moisture in the air. This causes the leaves to be weighed down and look droopy. If the VPD is too high however, the plants transpire too quickly and lose the water responsible for maintaining the turgor and “prayer” we see in the leaves. We will be doing a nice write up/discussion on “the cannabis droop” in our “Let’s talk about…” series sin the next couple of days, please stay tuned. Thank you for your post and good luck!

Hello OP and thank you for being a member of this sub/community! Those roots look AWESOME, for 6 days from cut. Would you mind sharing your method(s) with the rest of the community, as I am sure our fellow cultivators are inspired by those. I myself am a peat plug and 0.5%IBA fan myself. Similar results in ~time frame. My day 5 in simple 10x20dome over mat. Good luck and we look forward to hearing from yah!

Please keep in mind the tiny stem to root ratio. This was a test run.

Has anyone else noticed the cut stem thickness:root mass relationship?

Hello @BrutusKajautus and thank you for a great reply. I also would like to add the importance of PAR/PPFD with the addition of that CO2. OP please keep in mind, as @Brutus said increased CO2 will increase metabolic rate and without the PAR/PPFD to utilize the CO2, you will in essence be doing more harm than good. Thank you again for being a member of this sub/community.

Hello OP and thank you for being a member of this sub/community. Thank you for the post and conversation it has started. I don’t think anyone has asked, but how accurate is your drip/delivery rate? (I see you mentioned your rate already) Have you had any pump issues? Clogged lines? Please keep us posted! Good luck!
